Martha Gordon

The music world is about to be thrust into a brand new galaxy with the introduction of this bright innovative talent who will soar to previously unmarked heights on the Gospel, Pop, and Latin charts. Since beginning her musical journey at the age of 13, Martha Gordon’s vocal talents have blessed multitudes in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, England and Africa. Noting her obviously unique talent, her parents Alejandro and Micaela Tovar, encouraged and assisted her to cultivate it. Of her parents Martha states that emphatically, “I owe who I am today to these two special people who cared enough to teach me the way I should go.” At the age of 19, her parents helped her to record her first album. It was in Spanish and entitled, “A Medio Cielo”. Born into the rich ethnicity and heritage of a Latino family, Martha hails from Los Angeles, California and is the youngest of seven children. Her family’s cultural origins are from Mexico and Guatemala. As a family, they attended their home church and Martha began singing with the choir at age 13. At 15, she sang her first solo. That was the beginning of her destined journey.

Martha has been vocally influenced by artists like Cece Winans and Celine Dion. She has a special heart affiliation for Cece because of her worshipful heart and her commitment to serving God in the most beautiful way. “I love the fact that she has remained ageless in the sense that she is able to reach people of all ages”, says Martha.

Martha has resided in Phoenix, Arizona for the last 15 years. She has been a member of AZUSA World Ministries under the tutelage and pastorship of Dr. Alfred Craig for the past 7 years. Working in the Music Ministry as a bilingual Praise and Worship Leader has been her training ground. Her duties include a lot of translation of music, teaching the choir, singing in English and Spanish during AZUSA services and conferences. During her first 5 years with the ministry, she traveled extensively with Dr. Craig, singing at various AZUSA churches as well as ministering in Praise and Worship during FICWIFM regional conferences and missions outreaches to places like the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico and Rocky Point, Mexico. It was during this time that she worked as administrator of the Spanish Ministry Training Institute for 3 years. Martha has also completed the requirements and received a Bachelors Degree of Biblical Studies from Friends International University. Currently, she is still an MTI instructor, as the need arises. While fulfilling her responsibilities in the ministry at AZUSA, she met and married Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr. from Nigeria, Africa. Pastor Craig serves as spiritual father over them and their ministry, Spirit and Life Bible Church as well as their sister ministry, GODHEAD Prayer Ministry.

For the last 2 years, she has served as a pastor in Spirit and Life Bible Church, which has its headquarters in Nigeria, Africa where her mother-in-law, Apostle Eunice Gordon Osagiede, serves as General Overseer. Spirit and Life Bible Church has over 200 churches worldwide.

In addition to her pastoral duties, Martha actively serves as Assistant Coordinator for America and Canada and Coordinator for Latin America of their sister ministry, GODHEAD PRAYER MINISTRY. She also takes part regularly as one of the music ministers in the “Clarion Call” Conference, hosted by Jesus Woman Prayer Fellowship, which is a branch of GODHEAD Prayer Ministry.

She and Gordon travel extensively to various locations of Spirit and Life Bible Church holding conferences, leadership meetings, training seminars and ministering in song at each of the various locations. Martha has been working on a new music project for the last 6 months entitled “Fullness Of Time” with producer, Kyle Bynoe. The project will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish.

One of her favorite scriptures is 2 Corinthians 5:15, which says that Christ died so that we that live would not live for ourselves anymore but for Him that died for us. Martha says, “That’s the reason why I have passion for serving God with my gifts because I know that my life is no longer mine. I am only a steward of it and of everything else I have. For all that God has done for me the least I can do is use my gift to glorify Him.”
