Bio
Martin Bettinghaus is a singer/songwriter & producer. He played with the funk/soul band Spice for many years. The band became part of the Acid Jazz scene whose founder Eddie Piller put them onto one of the labels cult compilations. Martin played with Maceo Parker, Roy Ayers, Mother Earth, Corduroy etc.
He worked with many producers like Yak Bondy & Martin Buttrich, the latter being the former production partner to DJ giant Timo Maas. Bettinghaus feautured two tracks on Maas’s album “Loud”. The song “ubik” went into the UK top 40 single charts and emerged to a classic between Djs and clubbers. Bettinghaus and Buttrich teamed up for further collaborations, writing and producing songs for Bootsy Collins and Sir Tom Jones amongst others.
Martin Bettinghaus music shouts with primal exploitation of a new and treasured silence which has allowed this artist to breath and exhale with results that offer infectious relief. With the undeniable spirit of raw Blues and the energy of pure Rock & Roll, this artist creates a craving you never knew you had.
