Bio

"Summers came and summers they crashed; running from their haunted and painful past" belts singer/songwriter Martin Purtill in the intro of one of his newer releases, Medicated.

Purtill has been crooning his way into the hearts of area fans since late 1999, when he formed the popular local band "All the Wrong People" with long time friend Lee Madeloni. Driven by powerful lyrics and a voice full of raw emotion, it's easy to see why fans continue to support Purtill long since the band has fallen apart.

Martin Purtill is a minstrel of our time. Unafraid of opening his chest and offering his heart to you with every haunting melody and unfalteringly fearless lyric, Purtill treats his fans to a refined sound and a truly rare listening experience.

Purtill chronicles his life in his music, and invites you to come along for his journey. With open arms he welcomes you to share and spread the love that he knows every human feels and craves.

Artist Review - Martin Purtill in Mid Town Sacto
If you are ever near the neo-clectic burger joint called Hamburger Patties in Midtown Sacramento, try to check out an excellent singer/songwriter named Martin Purtill.

I have seen Martin play there a few times and the confines are warm and comfortable - just like Martin’s vocal stylings and songs. I could be at the Hamburger Patties or sitting in my living room, either way Martin Purtill has a presence that puts his audience at ease and leads them into relaxing moment-in-time.

You can check out Martin Purtill on his website at www. myspace. com/shecantknow and get a sampling of song that draw your ear. His song’s and vibe would be the perfect compliment to a movie soundtrack featuring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft...

Seriously though, Martin Purtill’s music inspire’s me to think, feel and believe - checking out one of his show’s is the perfect way to spend a late, lazy Sunday afternoon in NorCal.
