I've been a pro bass player for thirty-five years. I've probably played most styles of music you can think of, since being a freelance player has been my living: rock, funk, jazz, Latin, reggae, blues, classical, country, etc.
I was raised with classical, got into rock in my first bands, expanded to R&B and jazz in college then went where the gigs went.
When I write I can write in one style or just freely create, where all the styles I know have become part of my vocabulary and seem to blend and migrate.
The current tune, "Hello I Love You Dear," is a "commercial" song with a reggae/calypso feel. I think it'd be great in the movies!
