""Still Burnin""

"I met Marty DeJarnette at a house concert in North Carolina a few years back. He was a fan of Batdorf and Rodney, an acoustic duo I was part of from the seventies, and asked if he could sit in on a song or two during the show. I didn't know how it would work out but figured what the heck. Marty pulled out his harmonica and played along like he had been in the band for years! I was so blown away that when I went to the XM Radio studios in Washington D.C. to record a live B&R CD, I asked him to pack uphis harmonica and join us for the session and he did just that. Marty played flawlessly and is an integral part of the "Still Burnin'" CD. While in D.C., he gave me a copy of his solo CD and I really loved it. Marty writes really good songs about real people in real life situations and does it in a way all his own. He is a fine singer a quite the guitar player! I am thinking now that maybe I should have been the one asking to sit in with him!"

"Independent Tribune"

"His finger picking techniques enables him to produce a sound like there are multiple guitars going. His songs are similarly complex. What at casual listen sounds fairly straightforward is in fact, anything but. Many have an underlying wistful quality and many explore the complexities of love, whether for a place, for a person or both wrapped up together."

"Sounds Rich Productions"

"When I recently heard Marty perform I was in awe. His inspired well structured songs are memorable and get better and better each time I hear them. Marty's total musicianship transports you to a special place. His vocals are rich and warm and blend well with his delicate, accomplished acoustic guitar picking.”

"Cable Television"

"During the nearly four years that I have been producing the Bo Travis Country Music Special for Community Access Cable Television, I have had the rewarding job of scouting a few of the guests for the show. I encountered Marty DeJarnette when he was performing at Gus's 49er. I was intrigued with his voice quality, obvious ability to sing and play a variety of music, including some original pieces, great sense of humor and his genuine warmth in interacting with the audience. Marty appeared on the November 1991 monthly show and we were honored to have him appear again for two Christmas shows in 1991 and 1992. His comfortable, easy stage presence has made him a favorite with our crew".

If you put Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor and Crosby, Stills
& Nash in a blender, then added a splash of Leonard Cohen and
Bob Dylan you have a “Marty.”

Enjoy in front of a fire, on the beach or anywhere.

Seriously, Marty has such a sweet, wonderful sound and is an
absolute mixture of all of these artists…but…still manages to be
himself. A complete joy to listen to.

Bio

Marty DeJarnette is an accomplished fingerstyle guitarist, singer and songwriter who has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area of California and North Carolina for the past 25 years.

He has several credits to his career, including The Festival Plaza at the Concord Pavilion as pre-entertainment for such acts as Phil Collins and Crosby, Stills and Nash. He has also performed as a prelude act for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra for Pops In The Park.

DeJarnette has appeared on several public access T.V. shows such as The Bo Travis Country Music Specials and Down Home Music with Bill Reed and Friends. He made his XM Radio debut in November 2007 playing harmonica for acoustic guitar duo Batdorf and Rodney on the song titled "All I Need" which aired on Feb. 11, 2008 on the XM Radio Show entitled "The Loft."

During the summer of 2007, encouraged by friends and family to record some of his original songs, Marty gathered together some very talented friends and recorded his first CD titled "String Of Hope." The CD was performed live at Impact Sound Studios in Concord. The instruments used were all acoustic and the songs capture that 70's sound that inspired him so many years ago.

DeJarnette also specializes in performing music for weddings which you can learn more about at:
