What Ever Hapened to Manners

Written By: Marty Lasserre

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MANNERS

(1st verse)

There’s a trend in this country I don’t like, People not being nice.
Just going to the market, I get flipped off twice
You cut me off in the parking lot, you bump my cart in the aisle
I mighta had a bad day to, but I shake my head and smile

(Chorus)

Oh Whatever happened to manners, Saying Thank you and please
Open doors for ladies, God blessin a sneeze
Is it really that hard, to say excuse me
Whatever happened to manners, saying thank you and please

(2nd verse)

Stuck behind you at Starbucks, just tryin to quench my thirst
But it’s far more important to send your text first
You’re buried in your Blackberry like it’s your only friend
But I’d like to get on with life, so I’ll just ask again

(Chorus)

Whatever happened to manners, Saying Thank you and please
Open doors for ladies, God blessin a sneeze
Is it really that hard, to say excuse me
Whatever happened to manners, saying thank you and please

(3rd verse)

A singer takes a microphone out of another singers hand, She’s just trying to express her gratitude
A Congressman shouts out and calls our President a liar, whether you agree or not...that’s just rude
Now i’ve been guilty my own self, I’m not gonna lie
But we can all be a little nicer if we all just try

(alternate Chorus)

So let’s have some manners, and say thank you and please
Open doors for ladies, God bless a sneeze
It’s not that hard, to say excuse me
So let’s have some manners and say thank you and please

(chorus)

Whatever happened to manners, Saying Thank you and please
Open doors for ladies, God blessin a sneeze
Is it really that hard, to say excuse me
Whatever happened to manners, saying thank you and please

Watcha Been Thinking

Written By: Marty Lasserre

Whatcha Been Thinkin

(verse)

When I walked in the bar you were the first thing that I saw
Pretty little thing in jeans and a push up bra (oh ya)
You had the face of an angel and skin as smooth as silk
And a big fat frown that could sour milk (oh no)

I said to myself this looks like a lady who could use herself a friend
So if you’re lookin for an ear to borrow…I got one to lend

(chorus)

So why don’t you tell me whatcha been thinkin
And I can share what I been drinkin
We can do a shot….or three or four
Take a couple spins around the dance floor
Just tell me what it is that’s on your mind
Bout an hour…you’ll be doin fine

So why don’t you tell me whatcha been thinking
And I can share what I been drinkin

(verse)

Go on and ask yourself what it is that you got to lose
We can share some company…and a little booze (oh my)
What ever it is it can’t be all that bad
Cause life’s to short to be so sad (yes it is)

So if your looking for a willin shoulder to have a little cry
Come over and sit with me…I might be your guy

(chorus)

So why don’t you tell me whatcha been thinkin
And I can share what I been drinkin
We can do a shot….or three or four
Take a couple spins around the dance floor
Just tell me what it is that’s on your mind
Bout an hour…you’ll be doin fine

So why don’t you tell me whatcha been thinkin
And I can share what I been drinkin

(last chorus…slight change)

Come on now tell me whatcha been thinkin
You know I’ll share what I been drinkin
We can do a shot….or four or five
Hit the floor and bring this place alive
Just tell me what it is that’s bothering you
Trust me girl…I know just what to do

So why don’t you tell me whatcha been thinking
And I can share what I been drinkin

Go on now tell me whatcha been thinking
And I will share what I been drinkin

Right from the start

Written By: Marty Lasserre

Right from the start

(1st verse)

42 years ago my mama and daddy had a boy
I had a happy childhood filled with love and joy
Then the angels blessed me and added to my life
By introducing me to you and making you my wife.

You’ve always been there right by my side through the thick and thin
My parents taught me early on, keep trying and you’ll win
They set me on a path of life, a journey strong and straight
That path led me to you my dear, my destiny my fate.

(Chorus)

So from the day of my birth when I first met the earth
I fell into loving hands
Then when I grew, I was swept up by you
And that’s still where it stands.

So if the good lord should pick me for his show
I would surely know
That right from the start I was loved from the heart
And now it’s time to go.

(2nd verse)

There’s gonna be twists, there’s gonna be turns
There’s gonna be road blocks in life
I know I can kick them all out of the way
with the help of my loving wife.

I’ve never been perfect but I try to be good
And keep our goals in sight
I was taught as a youth to tell the truth
And always treat others right.

This boy grew up to be a man
And connect his lifes two parts
There were tears and trials along the way
But always caring hearts

Now like everyone else, my time will come
I don’t know how or when
I’m just blessed I shared this ride with you
And I’ll say those words again.

(Chorus)

From the day of my birth when I first met the earth
I fell into loving hands
Then when I grew, I was swept up by you
And that’s still where it stands.

So if the good lord should pick me for his show
I would surely know
That right from the start I was loved from the heart
And now it’s time to go.

Oh, right from the start…
I was loved from the heart…
And now it’s..time to go.

(Repeat Chorus)

From the day of my birth when I first met the earth
I fell into loving hands
Then when I grew, I was swept up by you
And that’s still where it stands.

So if the good lord should pick me for his show
I would surely know
That right from the start I was loved from the heart
And now it’s time to go.

Oh, right from the start…
I was loved from the heart…
And now it’s..time to go.
