Bio

MARVEL, that these days is spelled MÄRVEL due to strange legal issues, consists of the three super heroes Vocalo , Animalizer and The Ambassador that performs as The Vicar, The King and The Aviator. Behind this power trio we find three guys from Linköping, Sweden; John Steen, Ulrik Bostedt and Tony Samuelsson who founded the band Marvel during their high school exchange year in Colorado, USA., 2002.

After three celebrated vinyl singles, MÄRVEL released their album “Five Smell City” in 2005 getting them good press and many praises from the rock n roll community. “Five Smell City” shows off the high energy rock ‘n’ roll that has already become Marvel’s trademark. Guided by bands such as Kiss and The Stooges, this young bunch of untamed riff masters with a genuine feel for the groove have already managed to manifest their world domination program. MÄRVEL carelessly avoids all rock clichés known to man so you won’t find any songs about cars, beer and babes. Following up the success they released their CD EP “UNLEASHED!” where they devoted themselves to render six brilliant yet wildly diverse songs by other artists (AKA covers) into their trademark style of Rock N Roll.

The press loves these boys, that according to themselves will never pass 30 since there's a law saying no one over 30 is allowed to play rock n roll(?), and they have got good airplay (and praising reviews we might add) on national Swedish radio each release. Their latest video for the single “I Wanna Know You (just a little bit better)” got them on MTV for the second time and it’s currently on rotation on Superock on that very channel all over Europe. The video featured a wild and savage bunch of wrestlers that are said to have trashed a Chinese restaurant in Gothenburg before the video shoot. A video shoot that also involved a visit from the local fire department and a minor car crash on the way home.

In the end of 2007 they released their secon album, "Thunderblood Heart" and they toured Germany who now is getting to know this band good. This album got great reviews down there and it was also released on vinyl in a limited edition of 500 copies on Siren Recordings.

May 1:st 2009 they released a digital single, "A Pyrrhic Victory" and it was followed by yet another tour in Germany.

April 1:st 2011 the new album Warhawks Of War was released, and the respense in Sweden was overwhelming with lots of press coverage and airtime on national radio. The magazine Classic Rock made a full page about the band and right now a tour in Germany, France and Spain is planned for fall/winter 2011.
