It all begin at the age of 12, Marvelle Cook began playing the bass guitar in his Father’s church. He began performing at an organized level at the age of 16, with the late Willie Ross & New Youth Community Choir. This allowed him to capitalize on his God given gift, and opened many doors for him to play with internationally known Gospel Recording Artists such as, John P Kee, the late Rev. James Moore, Rev. Timothy Wright, Daryl Coley, Twinkie Clark, and a host of many others.
While perfecting his craft, Marvelle became interested in promoting gospel music. Subsequently, this inspired him to begin a production company, where Ministering through Music Productions Incorporated was established. Marvelle has been promoting Gospel Music for several years and in 2002 Ministering through Music Records a subsidiary of MTM Productions was formed.
In early 2004, Marvelle signed himself as the first Artist on the record label of MTM Records. On April 30, 2004, Marvelle Cook and Voices of Worship released their single debut CD entitled, Made a VOW.
MTM Records is an independent label that has received God’s favor by means of National Distribution with a Major Distributor and Promotional Company in the Gospel Industry. In addition, Marvelle has also acquired National and International Radio Airplay Promotions.
Through the spirit of Christ that dwells within Marvelle, the Lord has gifted him to introduce to the Christian Community a new form of Praise and Worship. His musical style is Urban Contemporary Praise and Worship. This awesome genre allows the worshiper to fellowship with the Lord using a combination of Urban/Neo and Contemporary lyrics. These two components combined, set an atmosphere of Praise and Worship that is Excellent before God.
It is uncommon for an Artist in the Gospel industry to accomplish both CEO of a Production Corporation and Independent Record Label operating in a major capacity. As a young African American, Marvelle has demonstrated that through Prayer and determination this can be achieved.
On January 29, 2005, Marvelle Cook and Voices of Worship recorded there first Live Recording hear at Wayman Chapel entitled, “Front Line Praiser”. Today, Front Line Praiser is available in stores internationally.
