OMG I'm so proud of my TishiaDiva I start rambling on, which I would do now if I wasn't working aha! You're not too bad yourself, young sir! Sis was going on and on about this Marwan kat, and I'm thinking, "Okay, he must not be that bad," and I listened to one of your live performances (I told her that's how you know a "real" artist), and I forgot I was on the phone with her! "Mesmerized, are we?" were her words exactly in laughter, but I couldn't concentrate. Maybe I was just sleepy LOL. Shoot, didn't matter, I got off the phone and listened to that song till I fell alseep. I think I know it by heart now hahahaha. You are officially my new brother LOL. God bless ya honey! ~Mi$$ Ca$$~ - MySpace (3/19/09)

Bio

In a larger, abridged version of Websters Dictionary, one might find this young mans picture next to the word "musician". Marwan (Soulflow) is a singer, songwriter, and producer originally from Decatur, IL. now based in Chicago, IL. With talent anchored by his superior vocal skills, he also plays guitar & piano. He grew up the youngest of two brothers and early influences include Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, Take 6, & Usher. He started singing in high school when he formed a 4-member group (Blynd) with his older brother Ezra and two friends for fun. This group performed at countless shows in the Midwest including various appearances on television and radio. The group also got an introduction to studio recording during this time. It's first demo was produced by the legendary producer Michael Day, former member of the group Champaign who authored several international Top 20 Billboard hits in the 1980's including "How 'Bout Us" & "Try Again". After some years, the group split, leading Marwan and Ezra to form a duo My Brotha, which gained the attention of LA-based entertainment company ME Entertainment. During this partnership, the two worked with some of the music industry's hottest multi-platinum and award-winning producers and songwriters including Mike City (Carl Thomas, Usher, Babyface), St. Nick of the Underdogs (Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson), Paul Allen of PAJAM (Paul Allen/J Moss/Walter Kearney) (J. Moss, Karen-Clark-Sheard, David Hollister), and music icon Kashif. Shortly afterward, the brothers decided to focus more heavily on songwriting and music production, contributing songs and vocals to multiple album projects including platinum/award-winning producer/artist Kashif's 2004 release "Music From My Mind".

In early 2010, Marwan did an impromptu performance of an original acoustic song "Change" at a north Chicago bar's open mic that marked a turning point. The response from this spur-of-the-moment performance was so positive and convincing that Marwan immediately began writing a solo album. Those sessions resulted in his debut studio album," Immortal",which featured well-crafted, melodic songs including the aforementioned "Change", "Immortal", & "Work It Out". The latter came to the attention of Derrick Brown, the well-respected Program Director of Chicago's iconic V103 radio station. Brown put the record in rotation the very next day. Buoyed by an appearance on TLC's hit show "Four Weddings", decided to take his time crafting the follow-up to "Immortal". During this process, Marwan received an email from industry/promotion veteran Kevin Ross, whose credentials included Motown, EMI/Capitol, & Warner Brothers. Ross was looking for artists for his new entertainment company Twoguard Media Group. Again, Derrick Brown stepped in, recommending Marwan and his newest single "Eternally". A phone conversation followed the email, & the two hit it off immediately, with Ross assuming immediate promotion & marketing duties. Ross also coined the name (Soulflow) because of Marwan's ability to "flow" between the styles of contemporary R&B, smooth neo-soul, & old school. 2 weeks later, Marwan sang for Avery Sunshine, who was blown away. The following day, he opened for her & Raheim DeVaughn at an outdoor festival to great crowd reception.

Marwan released his highly anticipated album "Eternal" in 2014. The single "Eternally" scored high fan marks earning him the Clear Channel/iHeart Radio "Featured Artist Of The Month" spot and heavy rotation in major markets including V103 (Chicago) where it reached the top 5 most-played songs in 2015.  Eternally also caught the attention of Soul Train, Billboard, and Rolling Out resulting in interviews by each.  Notable performances include a live performance on Chicago's WGN and openings for Maze feat. Frankie Beverly, Johnny Gill, and El DeBarge.

Marwan is currently working on his next album "Perfect" while collaborating with other local and national artists including the 90's band Public Announcement.
