I was born in co Derry N Ireland brought up in a small village called Park .
I started playing music at a very young age totally by ear and by the time I was 10 years old I had taught myself guitar was playing accordion and other instruments. Very very shy, it took a few years before singing my first song in public usually being the backing musician for my sister when she sang . Family sing rounds always had me in my element and that’s where I picked up many of the traditional songs and the taste for performing at venues.

At 16 years old I left home and came to Glasgow in search of a singing career. I started singing on the Irish Scene in Glasgow soon after I settled here My life changed dramatically at 19 years old and I became a young wife and mother . This was the first I felt very homesick and penned my first song “MY SCOTSMAN & THEE” worked my career around my family commitments and eventually got started as lead singer with a country band called Nevada then four years later I formed my own band we played the country circuit and clubs for nearly five years and toured in Ireland and England .

Last year I produced my own EP The long Way home and on the strength of that was signed to Greentrax the undisputed front runner for Celtic and traditional music in Scotland .

My debut album A song in her heart was released in Feb 2008 to great reviews from many leading magazines Including The Maverick Magazine, Irish Music Magazine, Music Maker Magazine, Taplas Magazine .Scotland on Sun, Rambles .net and many more .The album has been album of the week on many stations worldwide and I have been interviewed by several radio show presenters inc Robbie Shepard on BBC Radio Scotland ,Frank Hennessy BBC Radio Wales .Karin Ingram Radio Borders , Charlie Mc Gettigan on Shannon side Radio Dublin ,Charles Dewhurst No Celtic Boundaries ,Jimmy Neary Dundalk FM .Mike Ganley The Music Well,
Near FM Dublin and many more .

I have had the good fortune of supporting Sean Cannon member of (The Dubliners) Award winning singer songwriter Bob Cheevers (Nashville) and more recently The Donnie Munro Band and The Finlay Mc Donald band and have been booked for Celtic Connections 2009 supporting Brian Peters. I was also a headline act recently At Ponty's International Music Festival South Wales .

I Have recently started presenting my own radio show on Celtic Music Radio Glasgow . My influences in music are Sandy Denny, Mary Black, Emmi Lou Harris ,Iris Dement, Mary Gauthier, Richard Thompson, Christy Moore , Christy Hennessy ,Dolores Keene , Kate Rusby and many more .

I am currently working on my own material but also like to interpret other peoples songs and put my own stamp on them. My ambition is to take my music to a much wider audience around The UK and the world.
