"Mayhem Covered"

“It takes a great deal of courage to cover a song. In order to avoid repeating whats already been done, one must find a way to make his or her rendition unique, showcasing a level of originality that allows the art to speak for itself and hold its own against its predecessor(s). .... Whether one favors a particular version over another is something that ultimately comes down to personal preference, and, while still a topic of debate for this and any cover recorded from here to eternity, one thing that’s clear is that Mary Keey have modernized a classic in a tasteful way — projecting their own musical identity without compromising the original artistry — and, at the end of the day, that’s all anyone can ask of a cover.” - Blogpost

"EDM envasion"

“EDM Invasion: Mary Keey We know history sometimes repeats itself. It is most evident with one particular industry, which is music. We experienced the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll then the explosion of the disco era. Both then lost their touch and alternative music caught the spotlight. What was to come next was anyone’s guess. In the early 2000’s dance music was attempting to break through once again. The arrival of artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry made it possible for dance music to break into mainstream. All this was happening in America. But back in Europe dance music was always a popular style that never really lost its ground.” - Nick Christopher

"Skope Mag"

“WELCOME MARY KEEY TO THE USA Good morning world. I hope you are all doing well this week. I love taking time off but coming back to 300+ emails can be overwhelming. This is exciting news I read on emarketer.com, “The average adult will spend over 5 hours per day online, on nonvoice mobile activities or with other digital media this year, eMarketer estimates, compared to 4 hours and 31 minutes watching television.” Just another example how the internet has changed the game for all media from music to print to TV. You know planning a US tour can be tough for a domestic band but how about for Mary Keey from Switzerland?! Well that is not getting in the way of the band, Mary Keey, who plan to start on the northeast and head west spreading their electro pop sound for all to hear. I am so excited to meet up with Mary & the crew in Boston I had to have them on first. Join us today as Mary Keey speaks on planning the US tour, what a live show for Mary Keey is like...” - Stoli

"Mary Keey Releases New Single "Not Good Enough" As A Free Download;"

Some artists come together to make music and others just gravitate to each other because it’s meant to be. That’s the case with the powerhouse House/Hip hop/Pop/Electronic duo Mary Keey, who just released their debut single “Not Good Enough,” which is available as a free download at www.marykeeymusic.com. Their 5 track debut EP is expected to be released at the end of July 2011.

Comprised of multi-talented members Mary, a vocalist and songwriter, and Phil, who arranges the songs and plays the guitar, piano, cello, synth, and bass, the pair is emphatic that they didn’t form the group to make music, but after meeting two years ago at a concert, were simply drawn to each other artistically and felt a calling to work together. They began by recording the songs “Call Me” and “On My Own,” which led to the writing of many others. Because they enjoyed working together so much and were so pleased with the music they produced as a duo, they decided to make their artistic endeavors official a few months ago. “Phil was and still is a member of the group Houston!, who will release their sophomore album in June 2011. I’ve been writing songs since I was 14 – first in German and then in English,” Mary stated. The two describe their collaboration as “Emotional Voice Meets Guitar Hero.”

Describing “Not Good Enough,” Mary stated, “I wrote this song when I was about to crack and give up music completely. I felt the pressure to be perfect so much that I almost couldn't take it anymore. In my culture (Swiss), it's almost an illness that everything has to be perfect. So this song is about the feeling of doing something, but never getting to the point where you can say, ‘This is good enough.’ It’s a very personal song”.

“Not Good Enough” transitions between a slow tempo tune that quickly becomes edgy and faster paced. It’s an emotional track about the pressure of wanting to be perfect and the voices from outside that seek to judge just how well you did, and is an electronic, pop, dance track that is energetic and cool. Featuring a rap in Swissgerman, the song throws off the shackles of the judgmental with a message that proclaims ‘Nothing is ever good enough for you, but I'm going to keep doing my thing, because what I'm doing has style and quality. This is me!’

“Not Good Enough” is available for download free of charge at www.marykeeymusic.com and http://www.nimbitmusic.com/marykeey. It will also soon be available at the major online retailers iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, and eMusic.

Bio

Mary Keey is an unbelievably hypnotic, mainstream EDM Artist, that will have you dancing in the Street. If you are a lover of any electronic music, Mary Keey is the show you must see and hear. In Switzerland they simply call her the Swiss EDM Queen and is considered to be well on her way to becoming the next big thing in the American EDM scene.

The Mary Keey Sound is refreshingly distinctive; her songs are addictively catchy, up-tempo, feel good songs, which have a pop and Caribbean fusion feel to it.
Being influenced by some of the most popular artists of the day, which include Krewella, Ke$ha and Ellie Goulding. However, she believes that the distinctiveness of her music is what has brought about their popularity in the United States.

In 2011 Mary Keey went on her first European Tour where she headlined several Shows in Switzerland and Italy. In Mid 2012 Mary Keey toured the Eastern Seaboard of the United States where the response was absolutely incredible. She played some historic Venues such as Kenny’s Castaway, where bands such as Mark Knopfler, Rod Stewart and Bruce Springsteen have played in the Past.
Inspired by the success of that tour, Mary got right to work on their next album.
In January 2013 Mary Keey recorded her new single 100 LIGHTS at the CHAPEL STUDIOS in London with Steven A. Williams who already produced artists such as Sting and Britney Spears.

Back in the Studio Mary Keey is currently working on her debut album “Electricize Me”. In Spring 2014 she released her own EDM version of Michael Jacksons “Beat it”, which was a huge success and brought her thousands of views on Youtube. The Album is due to be released early 2015, which will be followed by a Release-tour.
