Talking about music is a waist of time, because talk is talk and music is music. ...Just listen and I'll sing you a song.

Biography

I have been writing songs all of my life, having grown up in a very musical family. However, I felt a calling to be an actor, so I went to school and became a professional actress for about 15 years of my life. During that time I was writing songs and recording on albums with friends in my spare time. I have, finally, come out of the closet as a singer songwriter. I am currently working on getting some quality recordings of the rough versions you will here on this profile. My influences are Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Led Zepplin, The Beatles and Elton John to name just a few. It doesn't matter if I'm working on solo projects, or collaborating with others, I just want to make good music. - Peace :)

Lyrics

San Francisco

Written By: Marylynn Ehrengard

My mind is a river, my thoughts running wild
I thought I had something to say for a while
I'm not really sure and I could be wrong
I can't quite recall, but it felt like a song
...a song...

Now it may have come from far, far away
From years ago, or yesturday
But, I hear it clearly
A voice, singing strong
And it's telling me that it won't be long
San Francisco

I want to go
San Francisco
You're asking me which way to go
San Francisco
I want to go, I want go, I want to go...San Francisco

It's hard to explain,
Like the rain coming down
It tickles you
And as it trickles you follow the sound
The words are right there
On the tip of my toungue
And they're telling me that your song must be sung
San Francisco

I want to go San Francisco
You're asking me which way to go,
San Francisco
I want to go, I want to go, I want to go...San Francisco

Why Wait

Written By: Marylynn Ehrengard

Why wait for a star to fall
When you can wish in your heart
For what you really want
What you want
What you really want
What you want
Ooo...ooo...ooo

Why wait for a dream to come true
When you can make your dream
Come to you
Come to you
Come to you
It will come
Ooo...ooo...ooo

Why wait for a star to fall
When what you wish in your heart
Is just to belong
To belong
To belong
You belong
Ooo...ooo...ooo

You belong to the stars
You belong to the stars
You belong to the stars
Ooo...ooo...ooo

Kiss it

Written By: Marylynn Ehrengard

First time I saw you I couldn't speak
My mouth fell open, I heard a squeek
Next time I saw you I was a creep
Your beauty cut down way too deep into me...
Into me...
Into me, yeah....

(chorus)
I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it feel...

And then I saw you the other day
I had the strength to not run away
My heart was open, I heard it say
When you are done with that come and play with me...
With me....yeah...

I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it better
I want to kiss it and make it feel...real...good...

Johnny and June

Written By: Marylynn Ehrengard

Columbus circle in the afternoon
I heard you singing your sweet tune
New York never knew your point of view so well,
...So well...

You made me laugh, you made me cry
It's no wonder that's when I fell...
I fell...

(Chorus)
Like a star falls from the deep blue sky
Just to see a twinkle in your deep dark eyes
If wishes were fishes I'de swim to you
And you could be my Johhny and I your June.

I'de never heard that song you sang
And somewhere in my soul it rang a bell...
...My bell....
I don't know you, you don't know me
From Adam, Eve, or even Steve, but oh well...
...I fell...

(repeat chorus)

(Verse three)

You probably have a girl back home
And your tour bus is bound to roam, so farewell...
...Farewell...

Maybe one day you'll hear me play this song
And the tale it tells of how I fell...

Like a star falls from the deep, blue sky
Just to see a twinkle in your deep, dark eyes
If you make a wish it may come true
And you could be my Johhny and I your June.

Bad Girl

Written By: Marylynn Ehrengard

Don't blame me, little baby
Your the one that handed me
your little box of chocolate secrets
Didn't you I would keep it
And eat it all gone
oh baby now,

(chorus)
Your just a bad girl in good girl's clothes
You think nobody knows
But, your a bad girl in good clothes.
Everybody knows.

I caught you doing your drive by
What are you now,
Some kind of spy?
Don't take no clues to know
You only want what you can't hold.
Oh yeah,

(repeat chorus)
You're just a bad girl in good girl's clothes
...

Don't worry now, little baby,
I found me someone new.
To think about, besides you.
She does things you would never do.
Oh yeah,

She's a bad girl in good girl's clothes
she think's no one knows
But she's a bad girl in good girls clothes
Everybody knows.

(Break)

(Repeat original chorus)

Discography

1997 - I was asked by my friend, Lisa Olivea, to sing with her on her album 'Dreaming of the Sun' under the band name 'Obelisk'. A song I wrote called 'Dove Song' made it onto the album, as well as some improve songs that we did in the studio. That experience was amazing to me and got me to start writing on my own. You can find the song 'Dreaming of the Sun' on Youtube and my facebook page.

A few years later I sang vocals on an album by Eric McKenna, called 'Seven Sails'.

2009 - I was in New York for a few months and after hearing me singing through the walls, my neighbor came over and asked me if I wanted to sing on his Drum & Bass album. I said 'of course!'. I learned that he has his own record label called Gorilla Recordings, based out of Brooklyn and I recorded vocals on his latest album under the name Mary Magdeline.
