In the words of Robbie Wolliver: A treasure of a brand new CD: quirky, smart, a bit Roche-y/McGarrigle-y, poetic, fun, and deceptively sophisticated structure at it core. Best CD I've heard in a while.

Biography

From Face Down at Folk City: Robbie Woliver A treasure of a brand new CD: "Morning Glory" by Mary MacGowan - quirky, smart, a bit Roche-y/McGarrigle-y, poetic, fun, singer-songwriter, and deceptively sophisticated structure at it core. Best CD I've heard in a while. Some truly beautiful songs "(In)Constant Ocean", the Joni-ish ("Cry For You"), all mixed with a dash of fun
and refreshing self-awareness.Lovin' it. Congrats, Mary! For those of you who knew her when...it's Mary Young, Formerly Mary Y Breckman...

Mary was born in Michigan, moved out east where she raised 3 children, now she's back in Michigan, singing about love and lakes. She studied music and composition at Interlochen Arts Academy and NYU.....Mary is a widely published poet, with poems in over 40 literary journals, including The South Carolina Review, The Literary Review , POEM, Apple Valley Review, Westview, Review Americana, California Quarterly, .....Mary has a master's degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development, and she really does sit by the lake everyday to watch the ducks swim by (see Song 4440).

Bill Kelly, producer. In BREAD ON THE WATERS, Kelly takes a long hard pull on the bottle of life, with weather beaten songs of messed-up love, longing, and redemption. Bill can be found at MrAmericana.com

Ellen Paltiel: Ellen performs all kinds of vocal music, from opera to folk to bhajans. No show tunes. She can be reached at epaltiel@cohengresser.com, where she is a high-powered attorney.

Jerry Friedman, Legendary musician, Jerry Friedman. He's been there, done that. His discography list goes on and on.

Andy Goessling, He's a key player in Railroad Earth. Railroad earth is similar to Crosby Stills Nash & Young and the Grateful Dead, although with a decidedly Bluegrass influence. Think Traveling Wilburys meet Del McCoury.

Lincoln Schleifer, a native New Yorker, has been an active member of the music industry for years. Lincoln has shared stage and studio space with such talents as Boz Skaggs, Phoebe Snow, Michael McDonald, Charles Brown, Warren Haynes and Patti Austin.

Joe Donadio, Check out his discography, it goes on and on.

Dizzy Lizzy

Written By: Mary MacGowan

Dizzy Lizzy

Dizzy Lizzy lost her head
found it hanging by a thread
By a thread her smile hung down
making Lizzy’s smile a frown

I got needle and some thread
sewed together neck and head
Right side up she found her smile
grinned a grin, Lizzy style

Dizzy Lizzy, is she fine?
Don’t ask me, she isn’t mine
All I know is that her head
is fastened on with golden thread
