Bio

Grab your seat and get ready for one of the most powerful voices in Gospel.
Her approach and delivery of a song is unusual because she has a blend of hard gospel and the ability to effortlessly embrace soft and high notes on cue while reaching back for her classical training for technique.

Mary Reid’s classical training at Brunswick College and Spellman College has allowed her to sing with some of the best orchestras around which included: The New York Symphony at Lincoln Center; The Atlanta Symphony at Symphony Hall in Atlanta, Georgia.

She has been awarded: The ASCAP Award (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship, John Wesley Dobbs Scholarship,
Johnny McDonald, The Spellman Music Scholarship, Outstanding Student of Humanities Division/ Brunswick College and on December 6th Brunswick, GA Proclaimed it to be Mary Reid’s Day.

While Mary has been blessed to have some formal training, her real talent comes from
Mom and Dad who started her and her four sisters Pauline, Diane, Rose, and Sandra
When she was only nine. Brothers James Reid Jr stood in as the “MD” (Music Director)
While Tim helped with back-up vocals.

While singing in the Gospel Industry, Mary has sang duets with such greats as Doc McKenzie, Joe Ligon, and James Bignon.

She has been traveling currently with the Ricky McKinnie Singers a group organized by Four Time Grammy winner Eric “Ricky Mckinnie of the Blind Boys of Alabama.

Paul Beasley of the original Gospel Keynotes says: “Mary’s voice is outstanding”.
Jimmy Carter of the Blind Boys of Alabama says, “She has a voice that needs to be heard”.

Sit back, Relax and enjoy Mary and her first solo single entitled “Mary Reid Sings….”!
