"BIOGRAPHY"

Call it punk, call it rock, call it punk rock party music at its finest, but however you label the music, Maryz Eyez is sure to provide you with an extraordinarily good time. Fresh out of one of the nation’s hottest music scenes, Maryz Eyez have been labeled as one of the most energizing and entertaining acts in the business today.
Debut album, “For All the Haters”, recorded by Producer Jamie Hoover, (R.E.M., Spongetones) of Charlotte, NC, and Mastered by Greg Calbi (John Lennon, the Beatles, U2) of Sterling Sound NYC has been turning heads in the music industry. Maryz Eyez has established large local followings in the Tri-State area (Michigan, Indiana, & Ohio), and is quickly gaining fans nationwide. The band’s Mailing List reaches people in all 50 states and 10 countries. They are currently scheduling a National Charity Tour throughout the U.S. for the fall of 2005.
Maryz Eyez provides a show like no other local band. Fueled by the driving beat of one of the most amazing drummers around, Maryz Eyez bring a humorous exhilarating show to the table. Crazy stage antics, humorous true-life songs, and the only band to have a mascot of its own are only a few things witnessed at their show. You never know what to expect. However the band still pushes out a thick dynamic sound with catchy hooks, and much emphasis on the vocals. Three part harmonious melodies are always apparent in a Maryz Eyez song, and all three front men share the lead mic.
Going on their 9th year as a band, Maryz Eyez are no strangers to the scene. They are currently making noise in the music industry, and have locked down representation with Wild Justice Entertainment (Days of the New, Seether). The band feels that it’s only a matter of time and have no plans of slowing down anytime soon. Feel free to check out the party at www.maryzeyez.com

"Review in the UK"

Maryz Eyez – ‘For All The Haters’

Maryz Eyez are a revolutionary young pop-punk band with a style firmly rooted in the past but a gaze that directs it’s attention purposefully toward the future. Their influences obviously range from the Beach Boys and Green Day to certain 80’s metal bands (see the marvelous; ‘Final Days’). When I received this CD and bore witness to the group shot of four, good looking young lads on the cover – I was expecting nothing but weak, punk by numbers. However, what lurks inside is what matters and this record is chock full of surprises and just a hint of nostalgia. Remember, if you will - back to when you first owned a copy of Green Day’s ‘Dookie’ or ‘Basket Case’. Remember that visceral energy, that bratty flamboyance? Well it is here, splattered throughout these 12 very different songs.

Opener ‘Lights Out’ showcases the vocalist nicely and while it certainly doesn’t tread any new ground – there are more hooks in this one song than on an entire New Found Glory record. The production is certainly not the best I’ve heard, especially in these days of major label pop-punk. However it does the trick and may even add a little bit of heart to the final mix. ‘Pourin Rain’ is an instant classic and finds the band showing off their very individual personality. Yes there are hints of Green Day in the time changes and occasionally in the vocal delivery but there is also a marvelously catchy pace present that is sure to get your pulse racing. Add to that the fun little surf guitar bridge and you have yourself a hit single if ever I heard one.

Thankfully the band’s potential doesn’t end there. It continues at a reasonably balanced level throughout the record. However there are dips and spikes that must be focused upon. ‘2nd Sight’ bounds along nicely with a strong chorus and very tropical guitar solo. This is just another example of the band throwing a spanner in the works just before they can be pigeonholed. ‘Over Now’ is better and with good reason. This is the band undertaking yet another epic writing concept and keeping it entertaining and clever without clogging up their simplistic delivery too badly. The acoustic guitars are a really clever touch and the vocal harmonies are second to none - Definitely a track for fans of both emo and pop-punk; not to mention just about any other genre that requires catchy, smart songwriting.

‘Ok’ & ‘County’ find the band reverting back to a far more tried and tested formula and despite a few digressions in ‘County’ things feel a little slow around this stage of the record. Luckily ‘Lost & Proud’ dons it’s cape and raises it’s fist to the sky in a bid to save the flagging middle section and boy does it ever! It is memorable and brooding. Better production would have given it a greater presence but as it is ‘Lost & Found’ is a blinding mid album ditty. ‘1330’ finds the band keeping it simple and unfortunately they do feel a little anonymous. Maryz Eyez are on the verge of great things, both outwardly and internally as their writing and creativity mature.

With tracks like; ‘Final Days’, ‘Pourin Rain’, ‘Over Now’ and ‘Lights Out’ they have not only touched upon, but sexually assaulted greatness and you know what? He doesn’t mind and neither would you; because these songs are the band at their best and if they can continue to develop their style then their next record could be perfect. For now though you simply must check out this band, they are one of the most exciting pop-punk bands since Blink 182. This time however; they will grow with you as you grow with them.

Standout Tracks: ‘Lights Out’, ‘Pourin Rain’ & ‘Over Now’.

"West Michigan Music"

The new album from Kalamazoo's favorite good time pop punks Maryz Eyez, "For All The Haters", establishes them as a standout amidst the current over-saturation of their genre. The opening track "Lights Out" sets a precedent of memorable choruses and tasty guitar licks that continue throughout the album. Stellar three-part harmonies also compliment every song. The energetic "OK" stands out as a fine example of the band's great job of hook-laden songwriting, as does the fun and bouncy "Pourin Rain". The heartfelt ballad "Your Light" and driving rock "Final Days" prove that Maryz Eyez is not just "three chords and the youth".

"Not Lame Records"

Sure, we`re suckers for really good pop-punk but when a band like Maryz Eyez comes along, it gives Not Lame a chance to hold a torch up and say `*here`s* how you DO it!". Green Day still does it better than all the rest, but after a handful of turns w/ this CD, we`ll place ME in the silver medal spot--they are that good. ME have three singers who all could be singing lead, that strong the vocals are here(certainly, not a hallmark for 97% of the bands in the genre). Heck, there are acoustic guitars driving hard int he mix! Way to go, guys--follow your own path `n rules inside the myopia of the punk-pop genre. They are constantly focused on maximum pop affect thru all the driving beats, ME has the control of this formula. Witness the perfect treasure of "Pourin Rain". If they were on a major label, this would be a hit single, video, you name it ---whatever comprises mainstream media entertainment these days(translation: if you have a cool teenager in the house, give them this as antidote to what`s being forefed them thru their mass-youth-culture media). "Highly melodic punk with pop elements taken from Bob Marley, NOFX, The Beach Boys and much more. The three singers switch lead vocal duties throughout the album and produce some of the best three part punk harmonies around. "-Recoil Magazine. "The best thing to happen to pop punk since Blink 182"-State of Emergency. If you get one CD in this style of rockin` punky pop, you can do not better than Maryz Eyez, rest assured. Very Highly Recommended - Bruce Brodeen

Bio

A refreshing new twist in today’s oversaturated scene, this album proves melody and harmony can still be associated with driving beats and heavy guitar licks. The band reminds us the words, Pop, Rock, Punk, and Singer Songwriter can be synonymous with each other, and live in harmony on a record entitled Memento Mori. With a unique approach, Maryz Eyez features 4 songwriters and 4 lead singers. Although Ryan Wagler holds the lead mic on nearly half of the tunes, the rest of the album is whored from singer to singer and songwriter to songwriter. The sound is both engaging and driving, but at the same time tender to the ear and pleasant to the soul. A wide array of influence can be noted ranging from Social Distortion, Green Day, and Sublime to The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and Johnny Cash; all the while crafting a tightly produced, hookladen rock album appealing to indie, rock, punk, and pop fans alike. Maryz Eyez: Memento Mori, takes us on a ride of ups and downs. From the Latin/Dance vibe of the title track, to the relentless chaos of “Killing Time”, then back to the gentle acoustics of “The Ride into Charlotte”; we find ourselves in a place strangely familiar yet new and refreshing. Though the album is pop friendly, it is not short on rock. Staying true to their roots, these Detroit natives deliver an ensemble of hits that leave the listener singing along to every hook and commanding them to spin the record another round. Here is an album that openly accepts optimism on one hand but questions the reasons why on another. We can all relate to Memento Mori through an understanding of the Latin phrase; “Remember that you are mortal, remember you will die”. The album fittingly reveals we must live each day to its fullest, for tomorrow may not remember us. Key Selling Points: • Two years on the Vans Warped Tour. • 1 and 3 hits on XM radio Channel 52 • Constant Touring Band for the Last 12 Years • Available for In-stores on tour route • Top 10 Myspace Rock bands from Michigan
