"New Band Ready to Rock"

Many rock bands get together to party, to rock hard, to yield their guitars, to maybe have success it it happens. The rarity is the band that begins the whole process organically, pauses to define their motives, and decides to proceed methodically, while still letting the art breathe. North Conway's Masceo, for that, is a rarity.

"Seventh Street Graphics Changes Ownership"

On Tuesday, Seventh Street Graphics underwent a change in ownership as
co-founder Jeremy Larochelle sold his stake in the company to business
partner and long-time friend Robby Bergeron.
Larochelle will now explore a childhood dream in the music business, but
also stay involed with the company he helped build. While the two friends
may be parting from an ownership status, they will remain linked together in
business and their friendship. Larochelle will remain employed at Seventh
Street Graphics on a part-time basis to maintain and fulfill relationships
he has developed over the past seven years.
"We both knew that this was coming," said Bergeron. " Jeremy has always been
passionate about pursuing his musical talents and it was up to us to develop
the company fast enough to allow him to still maintain his business
relationships and perform his work away from the office wherever he may be."
For about a year, Larochelle has been working with North Conway based
musician Masceo Williams. Together with Williams, bassist Mark Morin of
Berlin and legendary touring percussionist Kenny Hull, the group started to
arrange material for an album and possible shows. By the end of 2004, the
group had recorded and mastered a six song EP that immediately began to take
notice by locals and music industry professionals alike. Within three weeks,
the band has sold close to 200 copies and their web site www.masceoband.com
had more than 1300 hits and growing.
"Before the CD was even complete, we were booking shows and talking with the
press along the New England Coast and the College Circuit.
"The next logical step on my part was to sit and discuss with Robby a way
that I could remain a part of Seventh Street Graphics yet find the time to
get out and tour with the band. So we sat down and drafted out a plan of
action that would eventually relinquish ownership of the company to him and
enable me the time I needed to pursue my musical craft."
To maintain Seventh Street Graphics ever-expanding customer list, Larochelle
began to train fellow employee Taylor Fortier on the company computer
system.
"I took her under my wing and taught her about the elements of graphic
design, pagination, layout, pre-press and the computer programs that are
necessary to compete in today's modern print world," he said. "Before I knew
it, she was immersed and was impressing our clients every step of the way.
The change over couldn't have happened at a better time."
The change-over is pretty simple as Larochelle will maintain a two day a
week "in-house" schedule at Seventh Street Graphics to service a variety of
tasks. As for the rest of the week, Larochelle will be handling a specific
list of clients via his laptop while on the road with the band.
"After our move to our Glen Avenue location, we really started to step
things up to make this work," said Larochelle. "We integrated a computer
system that allows me to dial in to our company server from any Internet
connection in the world. Once inside, I can pull customer files, create new
files and print to our digital printing system."

"The Masceo Band"

Thr Masceo Band showed to be seasoned crowd pleasers, providing and energetic dialouge between jazzy vocal harmonics and booty shaking percussion.

The bans members...function as a creative team, bringing expereinces from many musical influences and backgrounds. The lyriics all written by Masceo Williams explore a variety of themes.

There is a party in every song, and not just a good time. We're talking the whole human spectrum of experience. "Cannonball," a song from the bands self titled debut album is packed with human artistry, feautring skat solos and dynamite bass and drum beats. The transisitons in beat and vocals flow mone to the next like mving from group to group in an excited crowd.

The stage energy among band members was most memorable with the final song of the set. "Parosia", a greek work as Masceo Williams excplains is about taking comfort in presense larger than ones self, a divine energy perhaps, but feeling the absence of personal connection. The rythm of the song mirrored absence with its beats and vocals, matching the internal rtyms possessed by all human beings. It is impossible not to be captivated by this blend of provoking lyrcis and transcendent instrumentals. - Good Times Magazine
