"We Wear Masks"

The other day i came across an incredibly new and mysterious outfit named MASKS. they're from the south of England and have impeccable musical tastes ranging from HEALTH to Ultravox to Gang Gang Dance.
they have the intensity and rawness of an old school industrial rock band (think Killing Joke), whilst combining elements of newer more experimental noise bands like some of their influences.
there's a whole heap of potential floating around these guys so keep your eyes and ears alert. - Fuckingdance.blogspot

"Technically High: Masks"

For four years Brighton has been the home of 'Colour out of Space', three days of unstructured experimental sound and art. This year featured the likes of glass-cutter extraordinare Justice Yeldman, sound collective Chora and personal favourites, flutey dream-duo Party Wild Horses Part Mane on Both Sides. In collaboration with the city's own Chocolate Monk, it's weird and it's great. But sometimes, Brighton boys just want to make pop music. Masks are one of those bands. Mixing the city's experimental edge with the direct thunder-sounds of Fuck Buttons, Errors and even HEALTH, James, Luke and a Boss Loop Station make glistening sounds that surprise with serrated edges of your favourite lo-fi punk.

Basically, they're recording in their bedrooms, and doing a good job of sounding like they aren't.

Masks have also made an exclusive mix for Neu Magazine. Unofficial title 'A Mixtape for Kids who Take Drugs at Their Computers Whilst Surfing the Internet, By Kids Who Take Drugs At Their Computers Whilist Surfing The Internet', it features messed up versions of Battles, Adam and The Ants and a guy with only one track, Everything Else Is. Snort. Listen. Enjoy. - Neu Magazine

Bio

Having played London and Brighton exstensivly and being a band to watch at Truck Festival 2011 Masks are on the up. Formed in 2009 as a 2 peice then progressing into a 3 peice Masks have always wanted to bring instrumental music to a wider audience and to do that they try and make every song as interesting and epic as possible. With pedals lining the floor every guitar tone is different and every bass tone booming. Drums are tribal and hardcore in style. It really is an odd mix but it sure as hell works. Influences are mainly Brontide,65dos,Tool,Battles,Gallops,Foals,Pearl Jam.
