"Mass Sky Raid - "Broken Wires""

"Brisbane band Mass Sky Raid are building a prog-rock sound here that strives for the epic. Singer Adam Lomas's vocals on the band's first single "Broken Wires" are huge. Lead guitarist Alex Kewley's riff is incisive and has unexpected hooks. The four-piece is as tight as any of their contemporaries. These boys have a few more songs available on their Facebook page or via Soundcloud and expect to release their first EP early next year. If early samples are anything to go by, the forth-coming release will add to the growing legacy of great progressive rock bands in Australia. Review score - 7.2/10"

"Album Review: Mass Sky Raid - 'Courage Under Fire' (2013 EP)"

"Once upon a time, debut EPs were mostly low-fi recordings of tracks hobbled together in someone’s garage. They were great. That style can still be great. But times have changed. Progression of musical talent, advances in recording technology and a change of ear in the listening-public all call for a different style of work now. Mass Sky Raid’s debut EP 'Courage Under Fire' is a case in point. This is not the product of your old school, part-time garage band. MSR have produced super-tight prog-rock that sounds more like said garage band after an injection of label resources. Their shows are only going to get bigger and bigger, and hopefully travel across the country. This is a band that sounds like it needs and wants a stadium to play to. Review score: 7.0 out of 10. Courage Under Fire is available now."

"Mass Sky Raid: Melodic Intensity"

"While the boys in Mass Sky Raid might be on the verge of transcending beyond their work on ‘Courage Under Fire’, that’s not to say their earlier tunes haven’t garnered their fair share of praise...Mass Sky Raid seems to be doing just fine — earning themselves support slots for some of the hottest up-and-coming rock bands from Australia."

"'Courage Under Fire' EP Review"

"Mass Sky Raid are only a couple of years old but this band has already assembled a confident, assured style which draws on the best of modern alternative rock and prog influences without blatantly sounding like anyone else in particular. They're probably an album away from sounding like themselves, but this six-song EP is still an extremely strong debut which points to great things to come. Part of what sets Mass Sky Raid apart is their ability to let the songs themselves dictate their own pace and orchestration: the verses aren't just facsimiles of each other, rather they're constantly evolving and diverging into new areas in subsequent iterations. And it's all tied up with production that's so well-realised and high quality that you'll be finding new musical elements to enjoy, fixate on and obsess over for months.” Review score – 4.5/5

Fresh off the scene in 2011, Mass Sky Raid are a modern alternative rock band hailing from the Gold Coast, Australia. Their unique and non-linear approach to melodic and lyrical composition has given them an exciting and easily-accessible sound with universal and relative concepts and hooks.

With vocalist Adam Lomas and guitarist Alex Kewley having begun their musical relationship 3 years prior, the lineup for Mass Sky Raid was completed and the band under-way within only a matter of months, given the addition of drummer Reece Baines and bassist Cameron Dobinson.

Within six months of formation, Mass Sky Raid already had their sights set on jumping in the studio to record their debut EP; attracting the attention of Loose Stones Studios’ owner and producer Matt Bartlem in the process. Having been given the opportunity to work with the team at Loose Stones, in conjunction with Aria award-winning producer Forrester Savell and Grammy award-winning producer J.R. McNeely, has proven to be a valuable asset to the band’s ever-growing progress and sound.

Live, Mass Sky Raid pour their heart and soul into each of their respective performances; creating an on-stage production that not only entertains and amazes crowds of all demographics, but also sonically justifies the emotional impacts and intricacies present in their studio recordings.

With their debut EP 'Courage Under Fire' since been released, the journey for this 4 piece Gold Coast outfit has only just begun…
