"'MasterMindz Leading Boise Hip-Hop'"

Making waves in the Boise rap scene is the debut album from the 208 representatives, The MasterMindz. Their new album 'Revelationz', which was released January 5, is full of fresh, high energy hip-hop, rap tracks with a radio friendly feel and a strong diversity of music. The songs are very full, complete with a huge range of instrumentation like flutes, guitars, strings, percussion, synths, keys, thick bass lines, and deep electro sounds. The beats are hard-hitting and well produced. The tracks are extremely well formatted and well written. Lyrics range from classic club material, to deep meaningful lyrics about life and personal experiences. There is plenty of melody written into these songs along with the thumping beat work. One of the most attracting aspects of these tracks is the rhythmic patterns, and clarity of the vocals. The album has a good range of radio hits, old school tracks, and very undergound feels. The mix on these songs is very tightly wrapped. Excellent balance of instrumentation beats and vocals. All in all, a very impressive set of well written, well produced, diverse, high energy material and definitely worth checking out. - A&R Select TV

Bio

The Pleasantville Killerz (Sketchy Waze and Jesse James) is one of the hottest rap/ hip-hop duos to hit the Northwest, and they are quickly taking the entire region by storm with their captivating sounds and clever wordplay. Fans of all ages can appreciate the true-to-life messages within the music, delivered over hard-hitting beats and combined with catchy melodies. An explosively high-energy stage performance has only added to their reputation, which already precedes the two rising stars.
Partners-in-rhyme since the ages of 11 and 13, the Boise-native duo has dropped 8 albums to the Northwest Underground since 2001. They independently released their self-titled commercial debut album in May of 2009, and since that time have performed in front of sold-out audiences across the Northwest for such big names as The Ying Yang Twins, Too Short, KyMani Marley, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Warren G, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Glasses Malone, Yukmouth, Cool Nutz, Illmaculate, Brown Boy, Kilo, Andre Nickatina, DJ Unk, Twista, De La Soul, Illmaculate, Sapient, Maino, Haystak and many others. The two have worked with producers and A&Rs from top labels such as Def Jam, Universal Motown and Interscope, and their music has received rotation on Boise and Portland radio, as well as several northern college radio stations. Their videos can be found on the prestigious WorldStarHipHop.com website, a coveted hip-hop video forum. Their ringtones have received over 10,000 downloads in one year's time, and they have self-produced 8 music videos, a couple of which feature big-name appearances from Bay Area Legend Yukmouth, Nashville's up-and-coming Haystak, Portland Pioneer Cool Nutz, two-time World Rap Champion Illmaculate, and the Texas Star Paul Wall.
The Pleasantville Killerz have a determination and drive that shines as brightly as their talent. Not only do they engineer and mix all their own music, but they have also taken up the torch as independent businessmen, studying each and every aspect of the music industry and utilizing every popular trend possible to maximize exposure of their CDs and merchandise. Their business savvy has enabled the duo to launch their own indie record label, MasterMindz Entertainment, with a complete pro audio and visual studio, PA and lighting equipment, a professional CD duplicator, an in-house silk screener for merchandising, and a list of industry contacts worth their weight in gold.
In such a short time, The Pleasantville Killerz have captured the hearts of countless fans and have single-handedly planted a seed in Idaho for an exciting new hip- hop culture. They have just released their sophomore project, “The Return Of The Pleasantville Killerz”, a 23-track LP guaranteed to satisfy even the most discriminate of hip-hop heads. The motivated duo is now working on a double-solo LP, entitled “The Pleasantville Massacre”, which is set to be released sometime late 2011. They are also working on a collaborative mixtape entitled “Zombies Ate My Neighbors”, to be released under the GameBoyz Series, a project of Octavius Crouch, Senior A&R of UniversalMotown.
Between all of this, as well as consistently touring the Northwest and Western regions in search of new eardrums to rock, PK stays pretty busy, but promises to continue delivering some of the hottest hip-hop the underground has to offer. The fans will undoubtedly be waiting.

“…A set of fresh, high-energy hip-hop with a strong diversity of music… The raps are smart, quick, smooth-flowing, and seemingly flawless… With lyrics ranging from unique and catchy club material, to deep meaningful lyrics about life and personal experiences… The album has many possible radio hits, as well as a good range of old-school tracks and very underground feels… All in all, an extremely impressive set of high-energy material for the next generation of music.” –A&R SELECT

“…A breath of fresh air for the Boise and northwest music scene… The Pleasantville Killerz are flipping the game like nobody thought Idaho ever could...” – The Boise BlackBook

"Rappers Jesse James and Sketchy Waze combine forces as the Pleasantville Killerz, an ambitious group that fills the local DIY rap throne filled for many years by Mad Ro. Loaded with diverse guests, tongue-twisting rhymes and creative studio flourishes, it's relentlessly funky, slick and usually club-friendly." - Idaho Statesman

“...Obviously a very talented group. It surprises me that a Major Label hasn't stepped up and invested in this duo, because in my 40+ years in music I find them very marketable.” -Michael Cosentino, Senior Account Manager, Direct Point Management
