We have formed in 2012, somehow by accident and we were immediately convinced: This band must keep on working!
We were all comming from other directions and styles (singer&songwriter,classical, world, freejazz, heavy) and have beaen surprised how good it felt to (finally)play in that band!
Most of our influences comce from our musical trainings (classical and jazz) and of course our big heroes: Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco, Johannes Brahms, Bonni and Clyde, Richard Wagner, Paul Motian, Grizzly Bear, Led Zeppelin and most important: our friends and people!
MATADOR´s aim? The creation of catchy songs through a concept free improvisation! As you will hear: that works very well!
