Matador is a folk trio based in Santa Cruz, California. Over the past few years Matador has performed extensively on the West Coast as well as throughout the country, playing original songs that share traits with traditional folk tunes and alternative rock. Matador plays soaring chamber music rooted in folk traditions that can rise from the subtlety of acapella voices in harmony to pounding rhythmic passages. Lyrically rich, each song takes the listener on a journey with an unknown end.
