Bio
Mateus is 13 year old. Mateus was raised on the island of Maui in Hawaii, where he performed hula, musical theatre and grew up listening to IZ, Elvis, John Lennon, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Pink and Jack Johnson. Mateus' family moved back to LA in 2009. When he left paradise, Mateus swore that he would go after his dream of making a career out of performing. "A lot of people said I couldn't be an actor on tv or in films, and I was laughed at for wanting to be a rapper-- even by really close friends. Even my singing teacher. That hurt a lot. But I used that to fuel me and focus on my goals and dreams." Three years later, he is now on Disney XD's "Lab Rats' (6 episodes-- recurring Guest Star), and has appeared on "Weeds," "Parenthood," "Criminal Minds" and "NCIS." This Fall he played a schitzophrenic boy in the feature film "Lonely Boy."
"I am blessed to be able to do what I do." Mateus' debut song and music video were released the beginning of December.
Regarding his song: "Yeah, it's about a girl! And personal heart-ache. I wanted to do something unique, so I wrote a rap ballad. It's that moment when the one you loves breaks up with you, and in this case it was my first love, but they don't give you a reason why. It's just suddenly over. And they are gone, without an explanation-- without a warning."
