Matt C. White is a prolific musician, Carolina-raised and currently based in Brooklyn. While splitting his time between fronting, drumming, and/or playing guitar in Grandpa Jack, Dead Seconds, and Charles Ellsworth and The Coo, White has managed to return to the deep woods of his youth to write, produce, and mix his first full-length solo album, Wallow In The Hollow.
The album is an expansive and colorful passage through the forest we all forgot we grew up in. Boasting a fat bag of folk tricks Wallow In The Hollow takes listeners along an eerily familiar trail of tribulations through the voices of guitar, mandolin, bass, slide, stomps, claps and soulfully layered vocals.
White teamed up with mastering maven Alex Saltz (Bruce Springsteen, Deer Tick, The Raconteurs) to deliver analog acoustics and an alternative take on America and Southern blues. Wallow In The Hollow is set to for release on Burro Borracho Records on May 4, 2018. - I'm Music Magazine

Bio
Born and raised along the banks of the Neuse River in North Carolina, Matt C. White is no stranger to the folklore of the Deep South that animates his songwriting. His musical style is groove driven, backwoods Tom Foolery touched by dark, southern soul. White’s adult life has been spent in the heart of Brooklyn, where he leads a three-piece band, produces experimental electronic sounds and supports a variety of other acts with voracious percussion. Returning to the singer/songwriter foundation of his past, White explores the dark matter of his youth to reconcile tensions between cultural heritage and personal identify.
