Bio

Matt Diamind is a Vancouver based producer, emcee & DJ. Founding member & producer for the award winning group The X Presidents & hip-hop trio Conscience, Matt is currently working on The X Presidents’ 3rd album as well as his debut solo album, “The Rimbaud Protocol”. Matt also founded the independent label Standstill Music in 2008; publishing 5 self-produced albums & booking/managing tours for artists such as Slum Village & members of The Pharcyde.

Beatroute Magazine spoke highly of his work on The X Presidents’ latest project “Hands Up”;

“The X Presidents’ self-produced second album is a largely introspective affair, with tracks ranging in tone from melancholic, guitar-driven reflections like “What I Should Have Said” and “Get Me Through” to the more feel-good “Carefree” and “Tumblin’.” Jazz, blues, and rock influences underscore the album, resulting in a cohesive, relevant release from a local hip-hop crew worth keeping an eye out for”

Matt has extensively toured & performed in 13 countries with artists such as KRS-One, Rakim, Fatlip & Slimkid3 (of The Pharcyde), Kool Keith, Raekwon (Wu-Tang), Slum Village. Matt has also worked on studio singles/videos with KRS-One, Fatlip, J-Sw!ft & Kool Keith. Last summer he performed with The X Presidents at the Canada Day 150th at Canada Place as well as Rifflandia Festival - 10th Anniversary, at the famous Phillips Backyard Stage.

After co-producing several beats with J-Sw!ft (Producer of Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde), the 2 decided to join forces under the name “The Break Fast Club”. Matt is also currently producing a collaboration record between Bizarre Ride (Fatlip & Slimkid3) & The X Presidents; slated for release in 2018. Matt is part of the Northwest artist collective known as OTOW Gang. Matt is also part of FACTOR jury, helping review grant applications for artists all across Canada.
