Matt Gaylord (born September 21, 1993), better known professionally as Matt G, is an American rapper from Durham, North Carolina. Known for his witty lyrical ability, west coast influenced style, and smooth laid back flow, he first received attention for his 2016 smash single "Honda Freestyle" featuring production from fellow Durham native Tim Arrington. Matt G initially began as a spoken word poet, in 2012, he released his own collection of his poems, short stories, and plays titled "The Last Poet Society" which garnered praise from the late Maya Angelou. Furthermore, Matt has garnered recognition for his energetic performance style hitting stages thus far in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Currently, the anticipation for Matt's upcoming full-length release is at an all time high.
