“I don’t know why I say, that I am a freak” - Inspired by his time in quarantine: Matt Kim’s introduces depressive, self-reflective lyrics with melancholic overtones. “With quarantine kicking my chronic depression into overdrive, I’ve started on this journey of self-reflection. As someone who generally keeps to himself, lives alone, and is a solitary person, my music represents my own internal battle with telling myself that there’s nothing wrong with being a loner compared to societal norms.”
