Bio

Matt Bailie was born in the city of Jacksonville, FL. From an early age, Matt loved performing and playing Music where ever he could, he just loved music, with strong influences like Garth Brooks, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, and of course, 38 Special, which longtime family friend, Donnie VanZant, helped guide him from a young age showing the in’s and out’s of the music world. Matt sang all day, every day.

The day Matt turned eighteen; he started touring with a local band out of Jacksonville by the name of the Tytus Hale band, staying on the road for weeks at a time singing in bars all around the state of Florida. He also found time to compete in a Nation wide country music competition, known as the Colgate Country Showdown, wining in every event progressing to finals time after time, state finals, and even regional finals, when long time friend Mr. VanZant told him he should move himself to Nashville, TN.

Getting involved with ASCAP right away, Matt met, now close friend, John Briggs, who helped him get deeper involved with Matt’s other talent, the gift of song writing. Writing with people by the names of Jim Peterik, Thom McHugh, Ward Davis, Lisa Carver, and of course, Donnie VanZant, but has written with many un-established, but great writers . Matt also spent a lot of time in the studio, completing eleven songs for his demo, using good friend and great producer, Chip Martin. Chip, knowing Matt in and out, worked with him days and nights on end, getting song after song finished till the product called Matt Bailie was done. With a new and different sound using choirs as background singers, distortion and good old rock and roll with a country twist, Matt still living in Nashville working hard every day to make his dreams come to life. He awaits the future of his music .
