Bio

Matt Cali was born to make music. A DJ since the eighth grade, Matt quickly immersed himself in the Northern California underground Hip Hop scene. Not satisfied with just being a DJ, Matt quickly found himself writing and producing music as part of the highly acclaimed hip hop group Underrated Collaborated (Rebels of rhythm). However successful, Matt wanted and needed more and soon found himself a solo artist hungry for recognition.

Known for his underground mix tapes , Matt Cali has shared the stage with music industry elites; Snoop Dogg, KRS One, Murs, The Living Legends, Zion-1, The Hieroglyphics, Lyrics Born, Slick Rick, E-40, just to name a few. Whether playing for thousands at a concert or scratching out a more intimate vibe at a celebrity party, Matt’s goal as a DJ and producer is simple “I want to make the crowd feel good at that very moment. Take them out of their daily lives and give them something harmonious to feed on.”

As an artist and DJ, Matt is versatile and spins and remixes everything from Underground Hip Hop to Club Classics, Electro, Top 40, and even Old School. Often times referred to as the “Mexican Kanye”, Matt will be the Latino Hip Hop artist to break the mold in the Latin community crossing over all musical boundaries and genres.

Currently on the popular “Rock & Rhyme” tour, Matt and tour mates are packing clubs all over the West Coast. You can find dates and locations on his new website www.CaliPaper.com which is currently reaching over 30,000 unique hits a week and growing.
