Plunderfolk (Matt Dalton)

Matt was born and raised in Boston, spending his early years in choir groups that helped to develop his ear for music. It wasn't until highschool that he began to branch out and listen to other sounds.

Some people have commented on Matt's intense style when he performs, which isn't wrong; Matt's songs are all very personal, and for the most part very reflective on darker subject matter. If, while listening to his songs, you're thinking, "Okay, he's writing about relationships," you would be absolutely right. But the difference between regular lovesick songs and the songs of Plunderfolk are this: Matt Dalton's lyrics and vocals aim to suspend you in his experience, in an atmospheric and at times march-like way, droning on but with thought-out beauty and resolution. His "love" songs are not simply love songs, but songs that seek to explore that elusive, chaotic, ugly emotion that we have all felt, whether we know it or not.

As for Matt himself, he has an intense wanderlust. He wants to play music for you, you, and yes, you. As close as Boston and as far as Stockholm.
