"Matt Daly performs on the Web!"

"Matt Daly was hilarious. I especially like that every other word wasn’t “f**k” and that it wasn’t all recycled gags. He looked around and generated hilarious comments on things in the room like my kazoo or the banners on the wall. His humor was fresh, inventive and oddly insightful. He even worked the word, “bacchanalia” into his bit. Anyone who can be funny with a decent vocabulary is already tops in my book. His best piece was about the fact that comedians are always seeking approval from the audience. Why do they always have to ask things like, “have you ever been to” or “have you ever seen” etc., etc. Then he started throwing out these ridiculous ones like, “Have you ever been to the moon?” “have you ever been to the bottom of the ocean?” Yeah, I know, you don’t get what the heck I’m saying. Don’t worry, you will when his routine is posted in the archives. He actually had me falling off the couch in paroxysms of laughter." - OurPrisoner.com

Bio

Matt Daly has been performing stand-up comedy since high school. His first performance: a barrage of one liners complete with straight man and vivacious "lovely assistant" at a school talent show. Now Matt's a regular in New York City's club and alternative comedy scenes. The straight man is now a carpenter and the lovely assistant a computer programmer, but that's another story.

In 2005, Matt performed in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. In 2006, he was featured on E! Entertainment Television's Forbes Celebrity 100 and took part in the Chicago Improv Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival. Most recently, he headlined at Ohio University, Athens, OH and Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, PA.

Matt likes goofy/silly smart jokes most of all. Like the time he saw a car with a for sale sign in the window that read,"Runs Grate!" (Matt distrusts the evaluation of complex machinery by anyone who can't spell the word "great") He attributes his his love of everything witty and oddball to his two favorite comics, Norm MacDonald and Jake Johansen.

Check out Matt's website, www.comedyforthemasses.com, for extended video clips, funny poems, wacky ramblings, an impressive resume, and most importantly, Matt's prom picture.
