Bio
My father played music for me almost every night as I drifted into sleep until I was about six years old. The music hasnt stopped coming since that time: trombone, french horn, drums, then guitar.
Now I play guitar, dobro, steel guitar and mandolin. I returned to creating music about 8 years ago, after picking up a mandolin to play on a long river trip.
My music comes to me spontaneously. The music is intimate and arises from essential human and life encounters; it is the language of emotion. Daddy was written when my 4 year old daughter began to express herself as her own person. Moving on Up was the last song I wrote before choosing a career and putting music aside. Metric Sally speaks for itself.
I have produced two CDs of original music, and have done my own arrangements of selected cover songs. I have started playing in local clubs again, and am performing at several large local venues.
Influences are bluegrass, appalachia, Leo Kottke, blues, and indigenous music.
I sing to others longings and lives.
