Matthew Layne

Beginning his solo career in July of 2015, Matthew Layne has been turning many heads in the industry as well as playing multiple cities and growing a fanbase so early in his career. His music has been described as an alternative acoustic in which people can connect with Layne on a lyrical point of view, as well as through his stage performance. Before Layne took on this solo project, he was the front man for Heavy Metal power house Earthbound from 2013 to 2015. 
For his live show, Layne has a variety of pedals to give the illusion of a full band. Layne currently uses an Ed Sheeran Signature Mini Acoustic from Martin & Co, a Boss RC-1 Loop Pedal, a Shure Wireless SM58 Microphone for looping, a Boss OC-3 Octave Pedal, and an Original Crybaby Wah Pedal. Using this gear, Layne creates the illusion of a full band with just one person on stage. From haunting harmonies to beats that will make you move, Layne performs a large variety of originals as well as an extensive list of covers.
Lyrically, Layne writes about real life experiences that have affected him directly, as well as being apart of experiences from a third person perspective. In March of 2015, Layne lost his mother to Stage 4 Lung Cancer, he took all of his emotion and heartache and wrote a song dedicated to her known as “Can’t Let Go”. Audiences have responded to the song with crying and relating it to themselves in a way of them losing someone. Through crowd interaction and the music, Layne does his best to connect with his audiences on an emotional level.
