Major influences are John Mayer, Patrick Stump, and Billy Joe Armstrong. I look to John Mayer for his lyric writing, Patrick for his vocals, and Billy Joe for his writing as well. I feel that all of the attributes when meshed together create a different kind of sound that is new and different.

Biography

Before music, I had always wanted to be a zoologist, move to Australia and work with Steve Irwin. After his death, I was really depressed because he was the only father figure i had in my life. but during that time of sadness i started really listening to music and began appreciating it. I have always sang, but i first picked up a guitar in 8th grade. I love playing blues and jazz more than anything else, but I have yet to incorporate any type of lead guitar into my solo music. I worry more about vocals than guitar. I would love to one day be able to include more electric guitar into my music, much like John Mayer, but still stick to acoustic roots. I love writing lyrics and I believe that is it what I'm best at, words come to me faster than any guitar riff or vocal melody.

Lyrics

let me know

Written By: Matthew Drake Oschmann

Give my heart a beat
I'll give your song a melody
and what we make of this will be
our song to sing
let me know that I've done wrong
and I will write you another love song
pile it into the stacks of ones that I wrote for you long ago
won't you please let me know
why you had to let me go
why you said it's over the other night when in the end we could have been alright.
call you up in the middle of the night
to make sure that you're alright
you tell me that you are with him
and that you have to go, again.
won't you please let me know
why you had to let me go
why you said it's over the other night when in the end we could have been alright
won't you please tell me why
i dream about you every night
why you're always on my mind then tell me why you're still not mine.
won't you please let me know
why you had to let me go
why you said it's over the other night when in the end we could have been alright.
give my heart a beat
I'll give your song a melody
and what we make of this will be
our song to sing.

Dear

Written By: Matthew Drake Oschmann

dismember me,
tie up all my loose ends.
surrender me,
throw me in front of bullets dear.
there's gotta be,
something more than you and me
out there, dear.
remember me
long after i'm gone
consider me
another lifelong friend, dear.
If we can count stars then why can't we count faces.
if we could stop time then memories would be pointless.
if a pictures worth a thousand words, then whats a word worth?
a penny, a nickel, a dime?
if we could stop time then memories would be pointless.
you and I
we've seen so much pain
but you and I
we won't go down in vain, dear.
If we can count stars then why can't we count faces.
if we could stop time then memories would be pointless.
if a pictures worth a thousand words, then whats a word worth?
a penny, a nickel, a dime?
if we could stop time, then memories would be pointless
you've got my heart, in a frenzy dear.
you've got my heart, in a frenzy dear.
you've got my heart.
oh in a frenzy dear
a frenzy dear,
