Bio
Born in Bethlehem, raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. Matthew plays acoustic music from the heart. Songs like Number 37 and Halo are heavily influenced by Zimbabwean Jit music made popular by Oliver Mtukudzi, but keep an accessible Western feel that people can easily associate to. Influences range from Oliver Mtukudzi to Iron and Wine with a host of others in-between. This is gentle soulful folk music with an African heart.
Matthew is relaxed on stage, chatting with the audience between songs generally making them laugh along the way.
Now based in Cape Town after fleeing Zimbabwe with stories of hope and love. (hopefully without getting too cliched! )
