Pop/rock feel with lots of power and meaning. Every song is a fusion between heart and faith. Matthew's music brings people back to life. His music is a safe-haven, a refuge where you can come and replenish your tired, worn down soul.

Biography

Matthew is a senior at Kennesaw State University where he pursing a degree in Integrative Studies. He has been singing since the age of three and has been studying piano privately for over 13 years. He first took an interest in songwriting in high school, where he would write piano melodies but he soon discovered a passion for writing lyrical based songs. He was placed on the map when he and his friend, Michael DeBacker, co-wrote a song for their high school graduation ceremony entitled "Goodbye", which was performed before a crowd of 5,000 plus at Woodstock First Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA. "I want my music to awaken the dead out there. I think that some people have this preconceived notion that Christianity is flat out boring. You go to church each Sunday, meet on Wednesdays for Bible study--it's simple, comfortable, and predictable. The Christianity we find in the bible is dangerous, wild, and ANYTHING but predictable. The Israelites, led by the heroic Moses, cross through the Red Sea with the Egyptians hot on their trail. David, the little guy, goes head to head with the biggest, fiercest Philistine of all time. And Jesus, the Son of God, enters our world to rescue his beloved, battling the Evil one in an attempt to free the hearts of mankind. It's bold and it's beautiful--that's real Christianity. Jesus proclaimed that he had come to heal the broken hearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). That's what I focus on..writing music that heals, liberates, and brings life to people. I want people to know and experience the living God, who is actively pursuing our hearts. It's a journey, an adventure to be lived and it takes time but He wants to walk with you, know you, and He wants to father you.

Lyrics

Bigger than Myself

Written By: Matthew Price

I'm sick and tired of the same old thing, stuck in a rut of daily routine, I'm coasting through on the path of least resistance

I know there's something more than this, I don't wanna waste my oxygen on this man-made, self-contained script.

Awake me from my slumber
Save me would you please
From this meaningless existence

Take me away from ordinary from this ordinary life
I need to take a journey so that I just might find the very reason why I'm alive, I have a calling from above so wrap me up in something bigger than myself

How do we so often forget? The promise of a plan that solely fits each and every single one of us

The journey will be far from easy, with twists and turns of mystery
But it's worth the cost just to follow him

Repeat Prechorus and Chorus

Always

Written By: Matthew Price

I am calling to you
In this most desperate hour
My enemies are closing in, you’re almost here
I can see you now

You are my shelter from the storm
You are my refuge, the only one I run to
You’re my safest place to hide

In the shadow of your strength
You will protect me
I am safe ‘cause I know you’re here always

I am running in the rain
Save me from these dark clouds above
They steal my life away from me but you’re almost here
I can feel you now

You are my shelter from the storm
You are my refuge, the only one I run to
You’re my safest place to hide

In the shadow of your strength
You will protect me
I am safe ‘cause I know you’re here always

Always, always, always, always, you’re here with me
I can always, always, always, always, I can always run to you

You are my shelter from the storm
You are my refuge, the only one I run to
You’re my safest place to hide

In the shadow of your strength
You will protect me
I am safe ‘cause I know you’re here always

Always, always, always, always, you’re here with me
I can always, always, always, always, I can always run to you

All of Me

Written By: Matthew Price

There are places in my soul
Where I never want to go
There’s a room that has no key
Locked inside of me but no one knows

How much longer can I go on?
Living like nothing’s wrong
Will you come for me?
My heart is crying out to you

This is my surrender of all that I am
Everything I have I give to you
And I bow before you, my Savior and my King
You come for my heart, you make me clean
And I surrender all of me

You say those who seek will find you
If they leave it all behind
So I pick up my cross and follow you
‘Cause in the end it’s worth the price

This is my surrender of all that I am
Everything I have I giveto you
And I bow before you, my Savior and my King
You come for my heart, you make me clean
And I surrender all of me

You breathe life into my soul
You know the deepest part of me
You breathe life into my soul
You are all I need

This is my surrender of all that I am
Everything I have I give to you
And I bow before you, my Savior and my King
You come for my heart, you make me clean
And I surrender all of me

Heaven

Written By: Matthew Price

There are echoes of Eden within
Traces of beauty I can’t comprehend
But I’m convinced the suffering I bear
Does not compare to the glory that will be

In heaven, where he’ll be waiting
With arms wide open ready to embrace
And I’ll be there with all of the ones I love
Together forever, the beauty that awaits in Heaven

Glasses lifted high in the air
Laughter, celebration the toast is near
The stories we will hear
Over a candle-lit table will fill our hearts with joy

In heaven, where he’ll be waiting
With arms wide open ready to embrace
And I’ll be there with all of the ones I love
Together forever, the beauty that awaits in Heaven

Do not fear
Death has lost its grip on us
Do not be afraid
We’ll meet again one day

In heaven, where I’ll be waiting
With arms wide open ready to embrace
And I’ll be there with you my loved one
Together forever, the beauty that awaits in Heaven
