Matthew Price

Matthew is a senior at Kennesaw State University where he pursing a degree in Integrative Studies. He has been singing since the age of three and has been studying piano privately for over 13 years. He first took an interest in songwriting in high school, where he would write piano melodies but he soon discovered a passion for writing lyrical based songs. He was placed on the map when he and his friend, Michael DeBacker, co-wrote a song for their high school graduation ceremony entitled "Goodbye", which was performed before a crowd of 5,000 plus at Woodstock First Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA. "I want my music to awaken the dead out there. I think that some people have this preconceived notion that Christianity is flat out boring. You go to church each Sunday, meet on Wednesdays for Bible study--it's simple, comfortable, and predictable. The Christianity we find in the bible is dangerous, wild, and ANYTHING but predictable. The Israelites, led by the heroic Moses, cross through the Red Sea with the Egyptians hot on their trail. David, the little guy, goes head to head with the biggest, fiercest Philistine of all time. And Jesus, the Son of God, enters our world to rescue his beloved, battling the Evil one in an attempt to free the hearts of mankind. It's bold and it's beautiful--that's real Christianity. Jesus proclaimed that he had come to heal the broken hearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). That's what I focus on..writing music that heals, liberates, and brings life to people. I want people to know and experience the living God, who is actively pursuing our hearts. It's a journey, an adventure to be lived and it takes time but He wants to walk with you, know you, and He wants to father you.
