"Matthew Silverman - Watercolor Dreams"

“Say, how can I make you understand?” are the exact sentiments. How can I make you I understand how true this debut record is from a future star. Matthew Silverman’s 'Watercolor Dreams' is some of the most genuine rock music out there today. It feels like a conversation he is having that tells you everything he is feeling, but what makes it better is that he is signing it for you! It is an outpour of emotions and feelings in every song such as 'Ambiguity Alive' when he says, “realizing the limitations of your soul can be the one single most disastrous and bleak tragedy.

You can’t beat the opening chords of the album. It will just suck you right in. The guitar riffs are hard and get you ready for the voice on the other end of your speaker. 'American Eyes' is a beautiful love song. This song is full of sweet nothings and great story telling. It is a true American tale of love found.

The haunting song, 'Dear Scott', leaves you wanting more. Silverman is telling a story and paints a very vivid picture. The pain is felt in every word. The chills creep up your back with every note. The chorus in the background makes you feel what he feels. You’re transported into a world of pain and grief.

'Landscape' is a sweet lullaby to the human soul. A conversation between lovers could be heard within this song between Silverman and the angelic background vocals. The title fits the words. It is a landscape of love and hope and beauty.

The catchiest song on the album is 'Watercolor Dreams.' You can’t help but smile at the beginning of the song, but the smile won’t fade! It stays throughout the entire song. "If I could paint a body like yours, I would never leave the gallery floor,” is original and beautiful. Silverman’s dreams are realistic. The instrumental solo fits perfectly with the tone.

Silverman is right in saying that “impressionists have nothing on his Watercolor Dreams.” No one has anything on Silverman. He is above and beyond many artists on the charts today. It has been quite a while since there has been an album that is impeccable in every aspect. Silverman has hit it on the head.
