"Matthew is pouring out heart, soul, and music through his inspirational album Audio Journal."

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, May 16, 2011 /Music Downloads IPOD and MP3 PR News/ -- Matthew Taylor has been in the service of himself and God, and he uses his gift of music to better himself and the rest of the world. For Matthew, music is not just about making songs, singing and performing them - it's also the message that you share to others. If he sticks to this, he's doing something noble and creative both at the same time.

It all began when Matthew was a wee baby. Like Schroeder from the comic strip 'Peanuts', he received his first toy grand piano at three. When he was four, he had his first toy guitar and amp as birthday presents, and from there, he started rocking to Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, and KISS. Matthew's parents were supportive but it was his Grandma J who took his love for music to the next level. He was allowed to play her Hammond organ, banging on the keys and destroying a few along the way.

Matthew's sound transitioned from noise to full-fledged music when he studied under husband and wife pianists, David and Beverly Lewis. And then he joined the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale where his singing flourished. His music had to take a backseat, however, in high school and college as he furthered his studies.

It was only until he was 27 years old that Matthew realized that he should live the dream that he's had since he was three. After winning a competition in 2010, he was sent to San Francisco to audition for 'American Idol'; unfortunately, he was told his voice was not 'poppy enough' for the show. The rejection hurt but Matthew was not to be bogged down by this - he moved on and continued to develop becoming a better artist. For someone who writes what he feels, it's essential that he can connect with his listeners. His music is full of love, pain, hope, change - what every human being experiences on a daily basis and all rendered in classical piano. Heartfelt and at times, heartbreaking, such is Matthew Taylor's music.

Matthew is now sharing his album 'Audio Journal' with 10 tracks showcasing his musical soul. Have a listen to Matthew Taylor's album at iTunes distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group.)

"Matthew Taylor Signs Global Distribution Deal"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Matthew Taylor Signs Global Distribution Deal

Denver, CO - March 13, 2011 - Colorado Springs, CO based musician, Matthew Taylor, announced on Monday, March 7, 2011 that he signed an exclusive worldwide distribution deal through JMD Distribution.

Just four months ago, Matthew Taylor started his solo career. “I’ve been wanting to take my music to the next level for years, and finally decided to take the chance and do it,” says Taylor. His first solo album, “Audio Journal,” will be released online within the next 4 to 6 weeks. Audio Journal will have 10 songs, which depict MT’s musical soul, including delightful classical pieces that are rare in this date and age.

“I was discussing Audio Journal (Future Album Release) with some colleagues, and several of them asked why I wanted to include the classical piano pieces in the final release. I simply told them that the whole reason behind putting classical tunes in this album was to relocate the listening audience back to the instrumental beauty of music. I think my piano deserves a solo here and there.” And it does. Matthew Taylor not only has one of the most soulful voices I have heard, but his fingers are truly the fastest I’ve ever seen on the keys. He brings jazz and funk back to a generation that has lacked it.

This deal came about after music scout, Kevin Brunhober, of JMD Records/Universal Music Group received a link to Matthew Taylor’s music online. He quickly responded, within a day, to MT’s manager stating, “Had a chance to hear Matthew Taylor’s tunes online. Material is pretty solid. Awesome, powerful voice.” In speaking with JMD Records, which is based out of Huntington Beach, CA; Mike Thompson, Vice President of A&R for JMD Records/Universal Music Group, took the time to share with Matthew Taylor how much he liked MT’s sound, as he reported that Kevin shared MT’s music with the entire office. He noted that in an industry that is over-saturated with artists trying to make it big, he felt that Matthew’s sound stood out, and stated that they don’t offer distribution deals to just any artist.

Through this deal, MT’s music will be distributed world wide, and will be available for purchase online through an array of sites, such as iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, last.fm, Beatport, MTV, and eMusic just to name some of the popular avenues.

Some of you may find his music familiar, and that is no shock. Matthew Taylor was formerly known as the front man for a well-known Colorado band, that still uses his name, “The Taylor Project.” Matthew left the project after he participated and won an American Idol competition called “Southern Colorado Idol,” which was held in Colorado Springs in late summer of 2010. As a result, FOX sent him to San Fransisco, CA to audition for the TV show. Although MT did not make it to Hollywood, it gave him new inspiration to pursue his solo endeavors, which have taken him as far as Iowa for shows within the last few months.

A few months back, it was said that Matthew Taylor has one of the most powerful musical souls of our time, and that his gift should be shared with the world. Who knew that the dream of sharing his gift with the world would come true so quickly. “I’m blessed,” says MT.

In summary, “JMD Distribution is pleased to have Matthew as our newest addition to our family,” stated Kevin Brunhober.

"When it comes to Music Just Press Play"

When it comes to guys playing the piano, it’s been done before.

To have younger guys on piano, the pool of talent is not exactly that stellar. There are exceptions, such as Jamie Cullum and Ben Jelen.

Now add to that roster MATTHEW TAYLOR.

MATTHEW TAYLOR began pounding on the keys when he was just three. I imagine him to be like Schroeder with his toy grand piano — and he’s about to make Lucy’s of us, falling in love with his music and piano-playing.

Having had very supportive parents and an even bigger fan with his Grandma J, Matthew was able to hone his piano-playing skills while also developing his talents for singing and composing songs. At a very young age, he found Jimi Hendrix, AC/CD and KISS to be music greats, and when juxtaposed with the tinkling of the keys, he came up with at first, interesting noise. Soon after, Matthew’s sound became polished and way more soulful.

In 2010. Matthew got his sort-of big break — he was able to audition for ‘American Idol’. However, a comment of his voice not being poppy enough made him not go through the Hollywood round. But instead of being disappointed about this, he went back to sticking with his sound and gladly, achieved what he wanted. His music is heartfelt and heartbreaking both at the same time — such is life!

Now MATTHEW TAYLOR has his own album titled ‘Audio Journal’ with 10 original tracks, now available at iTunes, distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group.)

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY:
"For Matthew, music is not just about making songs, singing and performing them - it's also the message that you share to others. If he sticks to this, he's doing something noble and creative both at the same time.

When it comes to guys playing the piano, its been done before. To have younger guys on piano, the pool of talent is not exactly that stellar. There are exceptions, such as Jamie Cullum and Ben Jelen. Now add to that roster MATTHEW TAYLOR. Matthew Taylor began pounding on the keys when he was just three. I imagine him to be like Schroeder with his toy grand piano and hes about to make Lucys of us, falling in love with his music and piano-playing.
