Matthew Vale is an Australian solo singer songwriter who writes and performs strong songs of longing and life with a steady driving rhythm and a catchy pop hook here and there.

Biography

With influences ranging from Neil Young to the Cure, Vale’s first EP Long Drive is expressive and intimate. Likened to M Ward, Vale's strong tenor vocals cut through electric guitar licks, ukulele riffs, soft rich harmonies, and blasting trumpet lines to produce a very unique sound.

“…Solo, you realise the sheer strength of his voice, just the man and his guitar, with a confidence that defies any notion of first-timer nerves.”

Lyrics

Hold on

Written By: Matthew Vale

Desires tear apart like paper in the rain
I'm never going to forgive you if you treat me like this again
I was once a big fish sailing on the ocean of the good
lessons learned and fires burned I know now we never should
Hold on
Forever
Hold strong
Forever
Hold on, Hold on

Sixteen days I think I'm going to pack it in and leave
you gave me time to realize we never should believe
that the shooters in the buildings and the killers in the woods
lessons learned and fires burned I know know we never should
Hold on
Forever
Hold strong
Forever
Hold on, Hold on

Time and again I will hold you down
never going to break the mold this time around
Time and again I will hold you down
never going to break the mold this time around

Hold on Forever
Hold strong
Forever
Hold on, Hold on
