MATTHIAS LOIBNER, profound hurdy-gurdy wizard.
Matthias Loibners expressive style brought him the name "Jimi Hendrix of the hurdy-gurdy". Yet he is also responsible for the debut recording of Joseph Haydns work for the vielle organisée (with Christophe Coin, Thierry Nouat), tracing xylophonemusic in East- and Southafrica or the lonesomeness of the hurdy-gurdy player in Schuberts "Winterreise".
For the hurdy-gurdy's sake Matthias Loibner quit his music studies. 1994 he won the 1st price at the "Concours des vielles et cornemuses" in St. Chartier, France. He wrote the german standard-method together with Riccardo Delfino and teached hurdy-gurdy in Europe, Japan and Australia. A privately taken concert video attracted over 150.000 viewers on youtube.
2008 he realised the unique live-multimedia installation "Time Project" where 4 European bands of all directions meet in order to overcome time.
