Bio

In 2006 "OdDiTy"(Dead Rep records) of the Dead Republic has announced a name change. For almost a decade now people have known him as OdDiTy, not to be mistaken "O-ditty!" His great grandfather Matthew Frazzetta was an old 1930's night club Tap dancer in New York before the depression and he went by the stage name of "Matti-Burns." When the depression hit he had to find other ways to make due for his wife and new born. OdDiTy has made up his mind and decided to transition for more of a professional appeal and take over the family tradition and become "MattiBurns."

MattiBurns aka RC.Nelson is simply a purest at heart when it comes to Hip-Hop. Born and raised in the countries largest melting pot "Florida," MattiBurns was quick to adapt to Hip-Hop's sub-culture. Ever since he was a little kid He loved the rhythm Hip-Hop casted in both positive and negative ways. Like any tool, it could either double or half you. This provocative music that was once formed to rally others to better themselves became his identity. He believes that Hip-Hop as an art form is also a very useful tool to motivate a nation beyond these momentary circumstances. Don't mistake this passion as any form of religion. If asked he would describe his musical style in one phrase: 12 Gauge Blues.

At the age of 19 MattiBurns' life changed drastically. From a kid grown up in a lifestyle of drugs and mishaps he soon found a calling. In 1999 his best friend was tragically killed in a car accident and his girlfriend at the time "now wife" prayed him through the grieving process. After a lot of fights and break ups He found the grace and peace in Jesus. That time grew him up as a man and in Spiritual wisdom. That same time MattiBurns found something to write about: real life issues and real life situations.

In 2007 1 week went by after his first official release and 3 musicians came to him wanting to start a band. The band consists of a drummer (Bryan cool), bass (Aaron Daurghty), acoustic/electric guitar (Josh York) and a little bit of flava through the mic (MattiBurns).

His recent album: "STAND" is highly anticipated. MattiBurns worked side by side with many Local St. Louis artists like his crew The Dead Republic (Wut Metaphysical, Alleyes Manifest, Emcee Noiz, DropJaw, and DJ Skools), a local street performer Earl Jenkins, Producer Matt Goodman of Central Logic Studios, and many others. On this album he was able to hook up with some out of state guests like Spoken Nerd and DJ Wick it the instigator both from Nashville TN. Also Jeff Rigsby (an amazing guitar player) from Columbus Ohio. Keep an eye out when he comes through your town, you don't want to miss it and make sure you check out "STAND" released April 20th 2007.
