Harder

Written By: Matt McKay

Harder (Matt McKay)

Taking her life forward,
Memories on her back
She don’t believe in colours ‘cept for black
Making like it don’t hurt
Thoughts can still have weight
Knowing she will make the same mistakes

It’s hard to go
Hard to stay
Harder than it is to say
You don’t believe in nothing anymore

Smiling from a distance
Screams too far to hear
Putting on the show when they are near
Though the light surrounds her
She pushes it away
Knowing it will shine another day

It’s hard to live
Hard to try
Harder than it is to die
You don’t believe in nothing anymore

“Try to make the most of it” they say
But she don’t want to live another day

Now that she has fallen
She doesn’t make a sound
It’s lonely and it’s boring in the ground
Everyone will miss her
It’s what made it okay
But they didn’t want to hear her when she’d say

It’s hard to go
Hard to stay
Harder than it is to say
It’s hard to live
Hard to try
Harder than it is to die
And it’s harder than it should be
Harder than it could be
Harder to believe in anything

They Don't

They Don’t (Matt McKay)

Where do you think you’re going
I think, not too far ahead (of you)
Turn ‘round start again
Think of yourself and your friends
They’re all just like you
After all this time
You think they’d have a clue
But they don’t…

All you want, is everything
But you won’t do anything, right (?)
I feel like I’m getting to the point (where I am)
Giving up on you

You feel sorry (only for yourself)
And fake your way, everyone else (believes you)
‘Cause they’re scared of you
And what you might do
It just goes to show
You expect us all to never, ever know
How you are…

All you want, is everything
But you won’t do anything, right (?)
I feel like I’m getting to the point (where I am)
Giving up on you

It just goes to show
You expect us all to never, ever know
How you are…

‘Cause all you want, is everything
But you won’t do anything, right (?)
I feel like I’m getting to the point (where I am)
Giving up on you

Come

Written By: Matt McKay

Come to me tonight
In the shadow of our dreams
Turn the dark to light
Nothing is quite what it seems

You know I want you to be here
Until the laughter turns to tears

We have lived our lives
Full of pain and full of fear
Who cares what has brought us Together we are here

For a moment
For a year
Until the laughter turns to tears

Who knows what we may find
Today, but that's alright
We both need someone nera
To take us through the night

I can feel your heartbeat
And I can see your smile
Maybe this wasn't meant to happen
But won't you stay awile

For a moment
For a year
Maybe forever
Until the laughter turns to tears

Rain Down

Written By: Matt McKay

Rain Down

Rain down, rain down, rain down something on me
Rain down, rain down, rain down anything

It's going to be a lovely day, I hear the AM people say
And as I drive on I can't see, how this all applies to me
It somehow all feels the same, nothing indicates a change
But tomorrow looks like rain, maybe it will bring something

It's going to be a rainy day, I hear everyone complain
As I drive all I can see, rubber across glass in front of me
As I venture 'cross the car lot, wet and cold is all I got
I don't know what I'm expecting, something that my mind's rejecting

It's going to be a cloudy day, I know them well, it's kind of comforting
It's easier to not see through, all the things that might be true
I guess it's possible that grey, is not the color of everything
Every one a different shade, I don't remember when they changed

It's going to be a snowy day, seems to add to my theory
Covering up everything, it's hard to tell what's underneath
Maybe nothing's there at all, maybe everything will fall
Sort of like my empty head, where everything that's good has fled
