"Kevin Manno of Chicago's Q101"

Audio can be heard at: http://vocalo.org/explore/content/51606

"[Matt Ryd is] going places! I've met a lot of local bands and [Matt] has a very distinctive sound."

- Kevin Manno, current DJ at Q101 (101.1 FM in Chicago) - Vocalo.org

"Mobfest – Natiiv Media showcase"

"Matt Ryd has a smooth, raspy voice which is remarkably similar to John Mayer. His songwriting is stellar and his guitar playing is pleasant. Unlike most singer/songwriters stuck in the down up, down up down, holding pattern, his strums alternate between different styles, accenting the songs. One of his songs has been featured on Zach Braff’s “Scrubs”, and he deserves it – overall he put on a good show ending with a montage of covers, the most notable being “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder." - Chicago's Independent Music Review

Bio

Matt Ryd doesn't like to write in the third-person, and he sees no reason to pretend like someone else is writing this bio, so he's going to go ahead and frivolously use the word "I."

- I'm a singer/songwriter based out of Chicago. Think fun, uptempo stuff in the vein of Matt Nathanson, Josh Kelley, or Hellogoodbye with fewer synths and no Autotune.
- I can perform in a full-band format, a multi-person-acoustic format (some combo of me, violin, and backing vocals/toy keyboards), or just solo. I choose the format based on the nature of gig, and what the person/group who books me wants to see.
- One of the songs off of my debut EP was featured on season 8 of the ABC show "Scrubs." That was pretty cool.
- I enjoy romantic candlelit dinners, long walks on the beach and... oh, wait... this isn't an OKCupid profile? Nevermind.
