Bio

Matt Saucedo emerged into the Midwest blues scene as a 21 year old drummer and lead vocalist. He began his music career with a three piece band named The Deaf White Cats performing at local clubs around Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Chicago. In 1998 a lifelong friend, mentor and phenomenal guitarist by the name of Jeff Jacob )1952-2006) convinced Matt to join his band, Jeff Jacob and The Resentments,? a hard rocking blues/funk band. The performed at a higher level than Matt had ever experienced. Matt performed with Jeff until 1999 and eventually returned as a Resentment in 2000. The experience of being a Resentment, fostered the evolution of Matt's style and image which encompassed a unique combination of acoustic rock and funk. For Matt, forming the band Common Project in 1999, was the next piece of the puzzle in giving life to his song writing. Matt toured festivals and small venues around the Midwest, performing on a festival circuit with a great hardworking group of dedicated musicians. Unfortunately Common Project? separated one day before signing with a small record label out of Colorado. Although the band was no longer together, Matt took his song writing into the studio to complete his own original material and released his first CD titled The Matt Saucedo Band Reliable Source, in which he along tracked guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Now Matt is performing his live set both solo and with fellow musicians that share his energetic, acoustic, funky performance style. His latest CD, titled 'Destination(s)" will be released in January of 2008. Check out his website, matsaucedoband.com, for more information about when and where he will be playing - either solo or with the full band.
