The Matt Stedman Band utilizes the electric violin is the lead instrument, and one of the most beautiful and exciting instruments in the world. Matt performs all styles on the violin from Celtic to classical to zydeco, however; most have never witnessed Rock, Jazz, or Blues played on a violin, as it is exceptionally unique and fantastic! Matt has performed with blues legends John Mayall and Bob Margolin, and has shared the stage with Celtic Band Gaelic Storm.
The Matt Stedman Band boasts world class musicians, as drummer and vocalist, Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith, performed with Junior Wells, and Pinetop Perkins. He is the son of the legendary drummer Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, who played percussion with the late, great Muddy Waters. Kenny is also the drummer for the internationally touring blues act Mississippi Heat. Pianist and vocalist Thom Maslan is a composer and has performed with "Killer" Ray Allison, Buddy Guy's former drummer. Guitarist and vocalist Ernie Hendrickson has works as a solo singer/songwriter, and also is the leader of his full band, Ernie Hendrickson & the Make Believe. Bassist Brian Burke has performed with "Killer" Ray Allison and is also the bassist for the internationally touring zydeco act Mojo & the Bayou Gypsies.
