Biography

Introducing you to Wollongong based roots reggae singer songwriter Matty Woods.

Matty performs as a solo artist, incorporating acoustic and electric guitars, percussion, belly dancers and loops. He also utilises numerous formats for his varied performances such as DJ, spoken word and full live band.

Matty's debut release 'The Ras Gong Guerrilla EP' covers many heated and political forums such as Indigenous sovereignty, transitional lifestyles, climate change, national identity, and corruption at all leves of business and government.

The smooth roots reggae grooves pounding so strongly out of the recesses of deep bass are alluring and an island vibes rhythm you can chant and stomp your feet to all day!

An activist and self empowered vegan, Matty finds his music a liberating means to breaking down cultural barriers, creating awareness about healthy lifestyle choices, human and animal rights, climate and social justice and much more!
