Maude Wiltshire sets herself apart from the rest of the world, musically and otherwise, by just being herself with no apologies.

The pop rocker out of New York’s East Village may have a "what you see is what you get" personality, but her music does most of the talking. Armed with strong pipes and catchy hooks, Maude aims to motivate people, give them a reason to get out of bed every morning, and get them to just feel.

"I want people to rock out and explore their emotions as well."

And that’s a command not a request. Maude says she practices tough love in art and life but as long as you’re rockin’ you’ll be cool. And don’t expect to be sitting still either. This artist integrates dance vibes into her rock songs. She says her lyrics are self -explanatory, cataloguing her ins and outs of love and motivating her to keep pushing down the musical track.

"I try to write motivational lyrics for myself."

Maude is originally from Richmond, Virginia but has found inspiration in the arts and music scene of the Village for the last few years. She didn’t even know how to play guitar when she made the move to New York but now writes her own songs. After learning a few chords from a friend, Maude taught herself the basics and developed her own style.

But she’s not new to performing. Maude has been singing and touring with bands since the age of 15. She’s brought her music to open mics throughout New York. The intimate atmosphere allows Maude to connect with her audience and integrate them into the whole experience.
