Bio

Maureen’s music career got its start in 1982, on the front steps of her Falmouth, Massachusetts home, where the five-year-old regularly performed songs by Elton John and Stevie Wonder. By the time she was ten years old, she started taking private voice lessons, where her deep love of music began to flourish. Maureen quickly mastered many different musical genres including classical, jazz, blues, gospel, and R&B, just to name a few. She started performing in local concerts and fundraisers for various organizations, and quickly became one of the most admired vocalists on Cape Cod.

As time went on she knew that music would forever be a part of her life. “I could never imagine my life without the presence of music. When I sing, I feel limitless.” After auditioning for the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, She was accepted and offered a Berklee Talent Scholarship to study vocal performance, ultimately completing her course of studies in May of 1999.

During her years in Boston, Maureen performed at The Boston Symphony Hall, The Boston Stock Exchange, The Berklee Performance Center, The Harvard Club, The Boston City Youth Gala, and at numerous other venues in and around the Boston area. In addition Maureen also has had the opportunity to sing with, and perform for music industry legends, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Kim Burrell, Chick Corea, David Bowie, John Mayer and Wayne Shorter.

In a very short time Maureen has lived in several other cities around the country, including Harlem, NYC and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has performed and produced her own shows at the Soul Café in New York City, and most recently was performing in Santa Fe where she was the co-creator and musical director of the Espiritu Gospel Choir. “Her confidence and skill are inarguable, especially on her own compositions, which stood out as the most spirited performances of the day.” –Lynn Cline, The New Mexican

Now making her home in Nashville, TN Maureen is performing on a regular basis, with her band, at renowned venues such as, Third and Lindsley in Nashville, and Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA. She is also a featured National Anthem soloist for the NHL's Nashville Predators.

Maureen is quickly becoming recognized for her commanding, soulful voice, which has a transcending power, reminiscent of soul performers from the past. “Maureen’s voice is the very definition of soul and beauty. People don’t just leave her shows satisfied, they leave in awe. She is a real artist, and every time you hear her, it is never less breathtaking or less inspiring than the first time you heard her perform. She has a rare power to move you again and again. Maureen is a unique and refreshing return to a truth that has been lost in most music today.” -Jennifer Casale, Poet
