Bio
Mauricio Ribeiro is majored in Composition, and plays the bass, guitar and piano. He wrote arrangements and soundtracks for movies, TV shows and ballet, and he plays with many artists in the musical scene of Minas Gerais.
Since 2005, Maurício is on the road with the Ventania no Cerrado project. The show, composed by chôros, baiões, xaxados, maracatus and other genuine Brazilian rhythms, is a pleasant trip through the richness of the Brazilian Culture, and it has its repertory based on the Maurícios compositions. The concert was presented in many events around the country, and in 2008 it was awarded with the BDMG Instrumental Prize, one of the most important prizes for the instrumental music in Brazil.
In this project, Maurício Ribeiro expresses all the musical diversity in which they are inserted, mixing joy and fun with quite elaborated arrangements. The CD Ventania no cerrado, to be released in August 2009, gathers good entertainment and excellent Brazilian instrumental music.
