Bio

Mavelle born Lindsay N Gilbert on 8/1/1982, the same day MTV was premeired, Mavelle was destined to be something special. Featured in VIBE Magazines, Sept 2005 issue, she was reckognized as an unsigned artist with a lot of potential and a unique sound. Combine sultry green eyes, cathcy lyrics, tight beats, and a soulfull delivery together and you have just encountered Mavelle. She has seperated herself from many other females in the industry, by taking full charge of her album production and marketing. Working on her first full length album, Mavelle has gone through about fifty or so songs to find the right mix. " I just want something that you can put in your stereo and let it ride top to bottom, without having to skip around to find the goods songs," proclaims Mavelle, "Cause I know I am tired of buying CDs that are just garbage." Mavelle feels very strong about music and how it should sound. "I love early 90s R&B and Hip-Hop. When a song came on you just felt good inside."
On stage she radiates with her passion for music and can keep an audience well entertained and involved in the show. "The one thing people tell me when I get off stage, more than anything, is that they can feel my passion for this music." Mavelle is a one stop shop, and has talents beyond just producing and performing her own music. She has the abilty to cross genres in both her performance style as well as her songwriting/production skills, writing anything from R&B, to alternative, even country music.
As a teen Mavelle attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts as a vocals major where she studied Jazz, Classical and Musical Theatre style vocals. From there she went on to study at The Hartford Conservatory, studying Jazz Piano and Record Production. Mavelle learned the art of good songwriting and production there through one her of her mentors, a former Sony Studios engineer and the Dean of Record Production, John Bolduc. Since then Mavelle has gone on to attend Full Sail College and received a degree in Recording Arts, and is now studying Business. "I am an Entrepreneur, I want my own label, my own songwriting and production company as well as pursuing certain ventures outside of the music business, including developing a new concept in retail clothing sales. "Nobody ever got anywhere without taking risks, so I plan to spread myself out over many different projects." In 2005 Mavelle started her company VerseAFire Entertainment, and has written and produced for many up and coming artists. Keep an eye out for Mavelle, she is getting ready to bust through the industry door with a hand full of hits and a few tricks up her sleeve.
